It's been over 15 years since I had him as a professor and I just saw him on the northeastern alumni website, and it reminded me of how much he was an egotistical, pompous, rude towards students (even for a architecture professor) he did not agree with...... Not a good studio professor or course, there weren't any big ideas introduced in the class. Seriously question why he is teaching a class like this. He thinks his "concepts" are out-of-this-world. The class consisted of guest speakers talking about aspects of design every class. Following that, Thrush would have a podcast-style conversation with the guest. It was interesting sometimes, but would drag on occasion; it could get very boring. He brought in peers from Harvard to review students' work. They were joking about how awful he was behind his back. It was obvious he wasn't respected by his peers. He was a joke! Professor Thrush is great. His Understanding Design class is really interesting; you get to hear some really brilliant design thinkers speak about how the design process applies to their work. He can't wait to tell you he went to Harvard. We had a critique with some of his colleagues from Harvard. Leading up to the presentation, George liked everyone's progress.
