This class was very entertaining but the assignments we were given were pretty tough. We would have weekly essays that we'd have to write up, and those were graded harshly. Amazing course, I learned a lot about dance and tried new styles. It's a great combination of reflection, practice, and understanding styles and history. Ilya is incredibly smart and can communicate ideas extremely well. He has extensive knowledge in a number of different areas and can answer questions on most topics. He is very caring and gives good feedback, and his class sessions are valuable. Very talented, smart, and well read professor teaching a passion project course. Ilya will help you if you don't slack. This course was more than I bargained for, but still a good experience. Ilya really cares about his students and the material, which shows in how much time he dedicates to answering questions both inside and outside of class time. Professor was extremely helpful and worked with students closely (at least those who asked). He challenged us intellectually and actually inspired us to grow. I felt comfortable being uneasy with concepts and didn't feel judged.
