Dr. LaRock's education policy course is amazing. He is dedicated, offering students time, advice, and connections. He brought in three guest speakers from the Massachusetts legislature, to give us an in depth view on K-12 policy, higher education policy, and policies on firearms / school shootings. Prof. LaRock has a great network and is generous about opening it up to students to give us unique learning experiences. In one class he gave us access to speakers, leaders, and policy makers it would have taken me a lifetime to meet! Super creative course on cases that the Supreme Court is hearing this year. Dr LaRock created a mock trial format online that was really interesting and engaging. Terrible advisor. Does not advise. Seems like he just wants to be a jerk to make himself look smarter. Wish he was a teacher who actually taught and wants their students to succeed because that is a true reflection of a sucessful mentor. No one cares about your million titles and jobs everywhere. J.D. LaRock will respond to emails and will try to explain what he wants, but regardless anything you write will not be good enough. He is really tough to please, takes forever to grade your work, and once he finally gives you the grade back you are sick to your stomach because he tore it apart.
