Jody is an amazing lecturer and has a lot of expertise in her fields but it was really hard to do well on assignments because there is no clear grading criteria (no rubric for most if not all her assignments) and her feedback is not very constructive (she tells you what is wrong with it but does not give good instruction on how to fix it).JRNL3300 2026-01-16 16:49:17 +0000 UTC
You have to take this alongside JRNL1101 and I overall had a great time. I really enjoyed the class and am forever grateful she introduced me to Adobe Premiere Pro. She makes sure you know how to use it and shows us exactly how. My one complaint was when she moved a due date a week earlier, so I turned it in late, aside from that good time.JRNL1102 2025-12-15 16:50:35 +0000 UTC
Her teaching is deeply entrenched in a rigid, woke ideology. This bias spills into her evaluations, where work is assessed more on ideological alignment than merit. She shows clear favoritism, engaging more with students who echo her views while others are sidelined. For a field that thrives on plurality, this approach is profoundly limiting.JRNL5309 2025-01-10 10:22:28 +0000 UTC
Extremely harsh grader and loves to accuse AI use with no evidence. The guidelines for assignments were not clear at all, and her feedback was more disrespectful than constructive. Would not recommend.JRNL3300 2025-12-14 21:14:48 +0000 UTC
Course is tailored to advanced, experienced students who have a lot of time and not other commitments. Workload and grading is quite unreasonable. She doesn't assist or give a lot of direction. And then you only get feedback after you submit projects, to which she is extremely harsh.JRNL5309 2024-01-24 16:34:51 +0000 UTC
Very accusatory of AI. Super unclear with assignment descriptions, and there are no draft reviews, so good luck if she doesn't like your final result. She has favorites and doesn't appreciate effort if you are struggling. If she doesn't like you, you will never do well enough on her assignments. Also, concerns about her talking to other professorsJRNL3300 2025-12-14 19:54:50 +0000 UTC
