Dr. Cardaras is one of the most inspiring and knowledgeable professors I have encountered. She can back up everything she is teaching and always stay fresh and current. Mary is one of the best professors I've had at NU. She is passionate about her students, her career, and the material she teaches. She's not an easy grader; you'll have to work hard and follow current events very closely to do well, but you'll learn a lot. Her visual journalism class for Journalism 3 is really interesting. Even the Tuesday/Friday sequence, with 100 minute classes, is never boring. She was an amazing professor. I had this class on Friday's at 9 :50 am and never missed a single one. She had fantastic speakers come in that were really useful at least once a week.
