I actually took this class last Spring. Such a sweetheart. Her class discussions are such a blast if you're willing to participate and she really cares about her students as people. What I remember from this class isn't the assignments but how I'd look forward to coming in and talking to her.JRNL1150 2025-12-09 18:40:21 +0000 UTC
She really cares about journalism and truly wants to see you grow as a writer. If you enjoy writing, which I assume you must to take this class, it should be easy and even fun. Her grading criteria was a bit unclear, but as long as you consider her feedback it should be fine. Genuinely learned a lot about journalism and writing in this class.JRNL1101 2021-02-12 01:03:51 +0000 UTC
I loved Meredith! She is one of my favorite journalism professors. She really cares about her students and is really charming. You will learn a lot — she is great at teaching the foundations of journalism that every good and passionate journalist should know.JRNL1150 2025-11-11 02:17:15 +0000 UTC
I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS PROFESSOR. She's such a baddie, and her class is my favorite this semester by a long shot. If you need a DD NUpath class TAKE THIS ONE. The way she presents journalism and real world issues in an engaging and digestible way is so fantastic, the class is also super easy, almost no homework. Cannot say enough good things!JRNL1150 2025-03-20 03:00:12 +0000 UTC

One of the best teachers at this school. She's very caring, fair in her grading, and overall runs a great class. Not too much writing for being a journalism class. If the class is running, highly recommend taking it with her. Good nupath class as well.JRNL1150 2022-12-16 11:52:17 +0000 UTC
Professor O'Brien is very passionate about journalism and provides great feedback and response to students' thoughts and ideas. There was a lot of material to read and analyze, both for in-class discussions and 5-7 page essay assignments. She does count for attendance and appreciates participation in discussions.JRNL1150 2021-12-13 14:50:58 +0000 UTC
She's awesome! Professor clearly enjoys her job and grades very fairly. I learned a lot in the class!JRNL1150 2019-12-28 23:21:25 +0000 UTC
Definitely my favorite professor at Northeastern so far. She is super caring and her class is not too difficult if you put some effort into the essays. The class is graded mostly on four 5-7 page essays, which O'Brien genuinely wants her students to succeed in. She has lots of practice in the field and is a great person to talk to.JRNL1150 2019-11-20 19:22:22 +0000 UTC
