Really felt like I genuinely learnt a lot in class. Encourages participation, and classes are conducted just the way they are supposed to. Terrible! RUN at any cost. Same as the other grader points out. Terrible at grading. Delete Canvas right after the final exam. Very strict in answers and have very limited time in quizzes and exams. He once stumbled into class, some 15 minutes late, with an uncomfortable expression on his face. It was clear he had pooped his pants. He sits down for quite some time, not saying a word, but gradually growing more and more uncomfortable and fidgety. Then, about 10 minutes later, he shot up from his chair and said, "Class! His grading criteria are very difficult to understand. He reduces marks for not writing enough and not writing too much if you don't write your full name for the assignment submission. There are many assignments for this class like discussion posts, proposal paper, presentations, quiz, midterm and final. I've had him for two courses: BIOT5120 and BIOT6214. Avoid him at all costs. He's a terrible grader and nitpicks the smallest things to tank your grade. No remorse. I'm convinced he does it for fun. Wish I could have more than 350 characters to describe how bad my experience was. Absolutely do not take any classes with this Professor - lot of reading, lots of assignments (weekly quizzes, midterm, group presentation, group paper, discussion posts, final). Grading is pathetic. Biostats is about data and numbers but he grades for English. He takes away points for wording and doesn't care if you get the answer right. We use Excel to calculate but he would ask you to break down the Excel formula into 15 sentences. The worst professor I've ever had. Grading scheme is arbitrary, and he will knock off points for wording when you actually had the correct answer and processes. Questions in assignments are vague, and it is never clear what is expected of you. Honestly the most confusing professor I've ever taken. Tests and assignments have points taken off for small wording choices, which is odd, since he doesn't know how to use most words correctly.
