She's a very sweet and passionate professor & she takes time in class to get to know her students. The final + midterm were a combined 25% of our final grade and participation (poll everywhere) was worth more than the exams. She also gives out extra bonus points (she gave us all an extra bonus point bc we did the hw on time!)EEMB2400 2025-12-10 20:42:12 +0000 UTC
Dr Lotterhos was very reasonable in her expectations and provided clear instructions for projects. She was also very understanding when I came to her with questions about a homework quiz and even gave me a few points back. Attendance is mandatory, but you can watch lectures via Zoom. She also shares recordings so you can re-watch things if needed.ENVR1500 2025-04-28 22:30:22 +0000 UTC
She made a really confusing subject much easier to understand and is always happy to answer questions. There's 2 exams with cheat sheets and a few homework assignments. If you go to class and do the practice problems, you'll be fine. She can be a bit disorganized sometimes thoughENVR2500 2023-12-16 23:54:00 +0000 UTC
I LOVED HER! Fav professor take this class for your advance science elective! SO much extra credit and she is so caring. Allows you to zoom into class if sick for participation. Does use Poll Everywhere but there is never rlly HW and the midterm and final combined are only 25% of your grade. Such a good professor, is lecture heavy but gives breaks.EEMB2400 2025-12-09 14:51:56 +0000 UTC
Dr. Lotterhos is an excellent lecturer. She can effortlessly explain and break down tough concepts. My only complaint with her is how she set up Canvas quizzes. For weekly homework assignments, a MCQ quiz would be posted online. She wouldn't release scores until weeks later, making it so that I could never actively keep track of my course grade.ENVR1500 2023-08-26 01:36:54 +0000 UTC
yall gotta be lying when you say she's the best - i read all the reviews, took the class, and CANT DISAGREE MORE. she is very knowledgable, but her lectures bore you to death and she isn't the best at explaining. she will go over a question if you ask but it usually clarifies nothing. also the way she grades things is awful, you never know ur gradeENVR2500 2023-12-15 17:35:04 +0000 UTC
Professor Lotterhos is a very caring professor who always provides clear expectations for the work she wants. There are multiple group projects scattered throughout the semester, and lecture homework with readings attached are assigned every couple of weeks. She reads off the slides during lectures, adding notes to the slides as she goes through.ENVR1500 2023-05-16 00:00:38 +0000 UTC
BEWARE. My son recently took a class with Prof. Lotterhos and is in a slump. She is such a genius professor that after just one semester, all of biostats was in the palm of his hand. Classes are no longer interesting and no other professor can even come close to Katie's teaching. She is an academic weapon if I've ever seen one. Brilliant!ENVR2500 2023-01-13 17:39:54 +0000 UTC
Prof. Lotterhos has the most banging outfits. Hands down the most stylish professor I've ever had. Her handwriting is also real pretty. The way she writes her % signs sparks joy in the depths of my heart. Would take for every class if I could.ENVR1500 2023-01-18 17:10:37 +0000 UTC
Dr. Lotterhos was one of the best professors I've had at Northeastern. She made Biostatistics interesting, clear, and useful for future pursuits. She was always available to help and made sure her TAs also knew how to teach & help students. I highly recommend her for Biostats - it's not an easy class by any means, but Lotterhos was a great teacher.ENVR2500 2020-04-27 17:04:35 +0000 UTC
A life-changing experience. Professor Lotterhos is the most caring person I've ever met. She made sure to prioritize inclusivity so I never felt out of place. After beating up a guy that stole my laptop, she took me under her wing and even landed me a coop at Harvard! Consider yourself lucky if you ever get to take one of her classes!ENVR1500 2023-01-13 17:45:49 +0000 UTC
Katie is awesome. We became best friends by the second week of the semester. When I confided during office hours that I had recently lost my parents, she took me in as her own child. She is the single most inspirational person I've ever come across during my time here at Northeastern. Can not recommend her highly enough.ENVR1500 2023-01-13 17:31:55 +0000 UTC
Professor Lotterhos was an absolute joy to have. From the first day of class, she had me hooked. She cares deeply for her students and even saved me from a house fire when my dorm caught on fire. She saved my life and I can't thank her enough! 10/10 professor, I learned a lot.ENVR1500 2023-01-13 17:21:51 +0000 UTC
