Although I am only a freshman, this professor is by far my favorite teacher I have had so far here. His level of knowledge, his eloquence, and his overall acceptance as a teacher inspires me to further my own quest to become an authentic human being. If you're taking this class to learn about sex don't. It's more of a religion class but I learned alot about the three religions. Participate (it makes up 17% of your grade). The tests are all take home, and the man is very knowledgeable in his field. Hes witty too. This Professor is the best ever. He does not take sides to any religion or extreme. He is very helpful with grades. The class average was an A-. I would recommend his class to an elective everyone listen!! Go Prof. Hartwig. He's a great guy..I love how he lays out all the assignments and they are well spread out so you have enough time to read the books (you don't have to) in time to write the papers or take home test (best invention ever). Super good professor. I CONSTANTLY find myself referring to material I learned in the class while having discussions about the role of gender in religion and politics. Great professor!
