She was the second professor in this class, which should have just been one professor. She would rush through slide shows and often talk herself into circles when trying to explain a concept. Attendance does count as extra credit but the lectures are not worth it.PHTH2210 2025-12-13 00:50:36 +0000 UTC
She was our joint professor for PHTH 2210. She was unable to answer questions and often speed through an entire lesson in 45 minutes when class is double that. She is also hard to reach outside of class.DS2001 2025-12-11 20:52:41 +0000 UTC
She barely ever gives feedback and does not help a lot with homework. Have to drop multiple follow-up emails before I hear back. Did not have clear grading criteria and is never accessible. Steer clear lolDS2001 2023-04-24 20:31:58 +0000 UTC
the prof was really good at finding topics to allow students to understand the entire scope of using ds in healthcare. there are weekly assignments that can be completed in class and a final group project. though a bit difficult, I would really recommend this class as the prof is really flexible and understanding of students' time.DS2001 2022-12-12 18:50:44 +0000 UTC
Interesting class section, I learned a lot in regard to health science data programming. There is a large semester-long group project and you get to choose the topic, which makes the project more interesting. Dr. Sathyanarayana was helpful and willing to assist with programming challenges and parts of the project.DS2001 2022-12-12 18:49:33 +0000 UTC
Professor Sathyanarayana understood the challenges of being a beginner in coding and brought lots of practical applications to the teachings in DS 2000. I often found that our assignments had more than enough time, and class periods were used to meet with TAs or ask her any questions. So knowledgeable and positive, truly wants her students to learnDS2001 2022-12-12 18:48:45 +0000 UTC
Assignments given in class didn't align with the corequisite course (DS2000); I had to seek help from TAs for almost every hw. Final project was very tedious, but she gave good feedback during early stages and was a relatively fair grader. She's willing to assist students outside of class, but overall it was too difficult for an entry level course.DS2001 2022-05-13 03:09:04 +0000 UTC
By far the best class I have taken! Professor Aarti shows so much care for her students. Her grading is very fair and the projects are incredibly useful for both resume and learning through supplemental resources. She is open to new ideas and has helped me get to a level of programming in the data science realm that I never knew I would achieve!DS2001 2022-04-28 04:09:30 +0000 UTC
I wish this course had aligned more with the content from DS2000. I did however find it empowering to create my own research report as part of the final project, which was worth 70% of the overall course grade. Small assignments such as the programming challenges matter, so go to office hours and stay on top of them throughout the semester!DS2001 2022-04-22 19:47:47 +0000 UTC
