Bad professor. Can not explain concepts to undergraduate students. Take anyone else, help your self in the long run.MATH1341 2025-12-12 22:00:09 +0000 UTC
(I actually took math1213 with her but that's not an option on the drop-down) Reading reviews of other students, it sounds nothing like my experience in her class. She was very kind and patient when you struggled with concepts, and is a great explainer. Her tests are copy-and pastes of the study guides just with different numbers, so very easy.MATH1241 2025-04-03 03:39:27 +0000 UTC
Not sure why so many low ratings, maybe she improved as a professor. She does do a lot of example problems so if that's how you learn take her class, if not I suggest a different professor. She is very understanding and cares about her students.MATH1342 2022-05-04 22:45:43 +0000 UTC
Zero clarity in what we were doing and on how to solve problems. She just sat in her wheelchair on her iPad, at least her dog was cute. She did give credit for hw but the tests were roughhh. Avoid at all costs especially if you didn't take BC calc in high school.MATH2341 2019-11-09 01:31:13 +0000 UTC
Just a bad teacher. She is terrible at getting students to understand material and overall is rude. Also her office hours are online only and seems to get mad that you show up to ask questions. I retook the course with a different professor and got a B-. take it with ANY OTHER professor if possible.MATH1341 2025-12-11 21:19:57 +0000 UTC
I failed calc w another professor and idk why Gibbins has such bad reviews!! It's like night and day, she is so much nicer and her style is great for visual and auditory learners. Ppl may find her rude but she just has a dry sense of humor and can be sarcastic. That aside, you can tell she really cares and goes out of her way to provide extra helpMATH1241 2024-05-15 23:07:26 +0000 UTC
Very fast paced lectures and made mistakes everyday. Expected things said once to be memorized by the next day. Quizzes were always either very fair or insanely hard with no in between. She also always has a slight attitude and it feels like she thinks her students are dumb. The one good thing I will say is that a lot of partial credit was given.MATH1342 2022-05-04 14:37:39 +0000 UTC
Your Grade comes down to two tests and a final. Lectures are rushed and don't always align with the quizzes. Will grade harshly and sometimes incorrectly. Try to avoid her, but if you must take her, start studying early. Go over your graded test to. She knows her stuff but lacks the ability to teach that knowledge to others.MATH1341 2025-05-29 02:57:06 +0000 UTC
She is a great professor in my mind, does homework session every night so you could ask her questions constantly. She does make mistakes in class sometimes and I see the test averages are horrible. So if you know what you are doing with your math, you can choose her since she gives out help. But if you are bad at math, not her.MATH1241 2023-07-03 14:07:07 +0000 UTC
Just sort of did examples every class. The quizzes and tests are a lot harder than what she did in class, and little was explained. The rare times a review sheet was made helped, but it didn't really make up for not learning it in the first place. Little partial credit for us even though she always messed up the examples in class too.MATH1342 2022-04-20 19:28:42 +0000 UTC
Tough grader but its a fair process. She wants you to do well and even though there are a lot of quizzes she drops so many of them that you get many chances to do well. Practice tests and quizzes are helpful. She wants you to do well and is very nice. Yes you do have to study, its a math class.MATH1341 2025-04-09 15:20:26 +0000 UTC
I went in with no calc experience terrified, but landed a B. Her lectures are DENSE but she outlined each step clearly, plus lots of examples to practice. 4/5 bc you only get points from tests, plus she made a few mistakes in class that if not pointed out by students, would leave us with incorrect answers to study from. Overall, great!MATH1241 2022-09-02 00:15:00 +0000 UTC
Probably the worst teacher I have ever had. When Prof Gibbins teaches, she makes so many mistakes and often asks the students if what shes doing is correct. Her quizzes and exams are more difficult than what you do in class, she gives minimal and confusing feedback and grades so harshly. Shes a sweet person, but she really should not be teacher.MATH1342 2021-12-06 18:55:57 +0000 UTC
first half of sem was so easy, then all of a sudden went completely downhill. practice quizzes became nothing like the actual quizzes, went from 100% to 50%. i am relatively good at math, and i actually like calc, and i show up to all lectures. she makes soooooo many mistakes especially on test reviews so its difficult to actually learnMATH1341 2025-04-02 21:13:28 +0000 UTC
The professor is decent. She teaches clearly and follows the syllabus. She is really good at preparing students for exams (she makes practice tests & questions). Sometimes she doesn't explain fully. I would recommend her if you have taken calculus before/are good at calculus. She teaches mostly by showing lots of examples.MATH1342 2020-05-07 15:08:44 +0000 UTC
