LOVE him. Took him for PHYS 1148 over the summer and genuinely that was the first time I could say I understood and enjoyed physics. Such a silly guy, and very effective at teaching. Definitely recommend for Physics II for Life Sciences. Took over the summer with two quizzes each week (two drops) that usually weren't too bad, and the midterm and final were very fair. hes a nice person but if you havent taken calc in hs dont take him, i didnt take precalc which made his lectures difficult to follow as his examples go from the question to the answer without showing steps, often didnt show up to class due to health issues (not his fault) and fully skipped units/rushed them sometimes makes worksheets but not alwaysMATH1341 2026-06-09 21:05:52 +0000 UTC
Calc 2 is a very teacher-based class in order to pass or fail. This professor did not give us the right preparation for the final. He missed class for multiple surgeries and did not go over some topics that were on the final exam. Additionally, his notes are all over the place. I loved the class. He has clear and educational lectures, answering questions completely and making sure everyone understands. It's a test heavy class with 3 quizzes, 4 exams, and a final (40%), but they weren't too hard and he posts accurate practice tests which are extremely helpful. I thought he was pretty funny, and also a very caring professor. Can be slow at responding but he does get back to you eventually and is super flexible. If you're sick, he'll let you take the quizzes during OH and is super helpful as well. Overall, his teaching/lectures aren't great but he's a nice professor in general. He was unavailable for his schedule office hours most of the time. When I tried to schedule other meeting times, he was dodgy because of other obligations. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy but very forgetful. I did not have him for the physics class but for physics ILS. While I got along with him well, his explanations at the beginning were a bit confusing, and he kept forgetting to grade the quizzes of students who went to the DRC for test taking. The grading was really clear and when we had a problem or uncertainty about the grading, the professor well explained and fixed the grade. He gives the quiz and the test based on the class material so it is best to not skip the classes.PHYS1149 2018-11-28 14:20:09 +0000 UTC
