Not sure why there are positive ratings but I guess because overall there are so few ratings. Anyways this is my 6th semester and I have never had a professor who grades so arbitrarily and unclearly. This lecture-heavy class covers important contemporary American government topics. SCOTUS readings lead to meaningful discussions on decisions and thought processes. Professor Berenson is by far one of the best professors I had at Northeastern. She is difficult and has high expectations for students, but it was the most rewarding class I have ever taken. My favorite professor. Very passionate and personable. Reading-heavy but not busy work. Papers are manageable and interesting. Encourages class participation. Kind, funny, and intelligent. One of the best professors I've had. I took this course to try out law, and now find myself pivoting my career path from CS to law school. The course is a fantastic overview of constitutional law and why it matters.
