Please do not take this professor! He does not curve anything even though some other professors do test corrections and such. The tests are way too difficult and it is not worth going through it.MATH2331 2025-05-14 14:49:13 +0000 UTC
Prof Knudsen's lectures are very informative and he enables us to think conceptually about abstract linear algebra concepts, which helps us understand related material beyond just this class. While tests were difficult, they're mostly fair if you do all the review worksheets, attend lecture, and watch related videos. Solid professor overall.MATH2331 2025-04-26 00:48:56 +0000 UTC
Ben's a good professor. He tried very hard to teach in class and asked if there's any question (yet people barely answers him). He's relatively funny compared to other math profs. This class is just generally hard and very conceptual, u need to spend some time outside of classes, especially before tests.MATH2331 2025-04-20 23:41:40 +0000 UTC
This is hilarious. Looking at the ratings, you can see that some of the only positive ratings are written on the same day, which is just Professor Knudsen going on to rate my professor and creating fake positive ratings. It's quite sad, honestly. His class was awful. All tests are theory-based, while homework and lectures are practice-based.MATH2331 2025-04-19 18:56:14 +0000 UTC
Great professor, the people posting 1 stars are just salty after a test they didn't prepare enough for. Lots of freshman in the course so they probably expect high school math classes. All of the 1 stars are from the exact date exam 2 was graded. One of the best math professors I have had in college. Great lectures.MATH2331 2025-04-16 23:10:13 +0000 UTC
He's a great professor. Linear algebra isn't a subject ur gonna get right away so u still have to watch videos or read the textbook. But he does a good job introducing it. The test are easy but if you get one wrong loss pointsHe asks us if we understand and for any questions so take advantage of that. The peolpe hating are mad they got bad gradesMATH2331 2025-03-18 22:06:36 +0000 UTC
He's a good professor I think he does good and he evens asks us if we have question and knowone answers him. If you take advantage of that then he'll be great. It's a tough class you'll still need to some YouTube lessons for deeper understanding but he's a good guy. The people who rate him lower are mad they got bad grades.MATH2331 2025-03-18 22:01:44 +0000 UTC
Please do NOT take this professor. He is very moody, and does not seem enthusiastic to teach the class. His tests are very difficult and focus more on theory than practicals which is what the homeworks focus on. handwriting is difficult to understand, concepts are not explained well, and he seems mad if we ask questions. Tests are weighed too heavyMATH2331 2025-03-18 21:40:59 +0000 UTC
Ben is a great professor with clear lectures that are focused on understanding concepts, not just memorization. The homework is basic to help you learn the concepts, and the test isn't much harder and the review guide is very similar to the test. People complaij. cuz they don't go to class (his lectures are empty) show up and you'll do fine!MATH2331 2025-03-18 20:34:53 +0000 UTC
Never seen a professor actively watch his students fail and be ok with it. He gives hw that's mostly practical and then gives exams that based on theory. If you're a bad exam taker good luck with 85% of you grade being exams. Avoid at all cost.MATH2331 2025-03-18 20:18:52 +0000 UTC
Will be a great choice if you are one of the following: Love cryptography and willing to decode his handwriting on notes Get 4.0 on all other classes and want to make your transcript more diverse Good at test taking so that can earn most credit from the 85% weight tests A big fun on submitting homework that need to be handwritingMATH2331 2025-03-14 04:25:45 +0000 UTC
im gonna lie, hes a great professorMATH2331 2025-03-10 20:51:45 +0000 UTC
WORST TEACHER AT NORTHEASTERN! AVOID AT ALL COST!MATH2331 2025-02-08 00:05:24 +0000 UTC
Extremely Bi-polar. Gets pissed when he asks questions he never taught. Zero application on exam all conceptual, genuinely forced to teach this class - he does not want to. Hostile during office hours and lectures have nothing to do with the actual exam. I have never taken a worse professor in Northeastern. I went to every class and OH - BEWARE!!!!MATH2331 2025-02-07 19:16:20 +0000 UTC
Lecture notes are a mess. Roasts students. Always says he doesn't understand students' questions when he should. Thinks we are crazy for asking questions he doesn't like. Makes us discuss in math class on things that weren't taught at all. Worse math teacher in Northeastern.MATH2331 2025-02-06 20:55:38 +0000 UTC
