Cares a lot about helping people understand, it is a small class, if you show up and ask questions you will learn a lot and need minimal outside study time. It is pretty basic statistics and as a stem major, I thought she was a fair grader overall, tests were fair and straightforward but other students struggled so if you are bad at math beware.MATH2280 2025-12-19 04:17:04 +0000 UTC
Can you believe that there is an exam for a course every week? Exams account for 76% of your grades. I find that quite astonishing. Give me another chance, and I definitely won't choose this professor. I only like people who study hard and don't just focus on exams. I really dislike that.MATH1231 2025-10-07 02:28:22 +0000 UTC
The class wasn't that hard, if you have a solid understanding of calculus and high school stats. She explains concepts by doing example problems in class and she's a tough grader. She's heavy on participation, but actually go to class bc she's a good lecturer. tests weren't bad and based on the hws and practice testsMATH3081 2025-05-04 20:00:44 +0000 UTC
Bindu is knowledgeable, but not a good teacher. She is poor at explaining concepts, she gets wrong answers on the bored, and her Blackboard site is terribly organized. On the bright side she is almost always available during office hours. Also the final grade is basically just the nine or so quizzes we had over the semester and the final.MATH1251 2019-04-10 01:27:19 +0000 UTC
do not takeMATH2280 2025-12-11 00:12:38 +0000 UTC
She overcomplicates things unnecessarily and doesn't know how to explain things properly in a way that makes sense to people who don't have a solid background of calculus. She goes way too fast, has no patience for people who don't understand, and manages to make basic calculus confusing. Would not recommend to anyone.MATH1231 2025-09-24 15:01:22 +0000 UTC
She is horrible at preparing you for the tests, which are also very difficult.MATH3081 2025-04-21 14:52:38 +0000 UTC
very hard to understand and often does not understand you. Teaches straight out of the textbook and all notesheets+solutions are copy+pasted straight from the online textbook, often with no context just formulas. She does not format the stuff after she copy pastes it so it just look like slop and very hard to follow. Take someone else.MATH2280 2025-11-13 02:03:56 +0000 UTC
Dr. Veetel is a great professor. She teaches exactly what she plans to put on the exam, and is always willing to answer any questions you may have. You just need to listen in class and maybe do her supplementary homework if you're confused. I'd recommend going to class, going to office hours. She is really not a bad professor.MATH1231 2024-12-06 05:08:16 +0000 UTC
Took this class as an extra math elective, and regretted it. Attendance in person was mandatory, she would remove too many points for small calculation mistakes, assigned work during break that was due during break, and would go over the allotted time every class without fail. She is smart, but it doesn't feel like she respects her students time.MATH3081 2025-04-09 16:00:47 +0000 UTC
Prof Veteel is definitely a qualified individual regarding math, but she is kind of tough to understand in lectures. She teaches straight out of the textbook and is all over the place, it seems like she doesn't have a plan for any lectures and just decides what she wants to teach that day. Tests aren't too hard and she gives ample practice problemsMATH2280 2022-12-21 23:19:24 +0000 UTC
If I could have one professor FIRED, it would be Bindu. Overcomplicates calc and is not straight forward at all. Wish I could give a 0. Everybody would do terrible and her graders take off so many points for the smallest thing. Calls on you randomly with no warning. I understood calc in high school and did well, now I have never been more confused.MATH1231 2024-12-02 16:23:14 +0000 UTC
I really did not have any problems with her. I may have some bias because I took stats in high school but I think everything was explain well. The tests were not too challenging.MATH3081 2025-01-07 22:16:12 +0000 UTC
I believe this was professor Veetel's first time teaching stats and it was pretty obvious. Taught straight out of the textbook and often would ask students if she was correct. Didn't teach us the much easier calculator method for a whole semesters material till the week before the final.MATH2280 2019-01-04 05:33:08 +0000 UTC
If I could give her a zero I would she's actually the worst professor ever, she doesn't know how to teach. She cold calls, and will never be able to answer a question you have. Do not take her.MATH1231 2024-11-25 16:12:59 +0000 UTC
