Brent is amazing. He is the most caring and understanding professor I have at the moment. He doesn't stresses students out but offers everything he can for students to get a good grade. I highly recommend you to take his class.ESLG0095 2025-12-03 20:52:43 +0000 UTC
Brent does not really teach much and mostly sits in front of the class waiting for questions. It is not exactly bad, since you just do your own work. His grading criteria are clear, and if you ask questions he answers in detail and is always patient. Best to check your work with him in person.ESLG0711 2025-10-23 15:19:46 +0000 UTC
This is the worst professor that I ever had in my life. The highest grade in my class is lower than the average grade in other professors' classes. And all the grades are graded when the course end, which means that I have no chance to improve my grade.ENGL1102 2024-10-12 03:21:03 +0000 UTC
He is a really good professor. He is kind and knowledgeable, if you ask him question he will answer you with patient. However, to get an A is a little bit hard. He cares about detail and often hopes his students to create high quality work. Otherwise he is a good teacher.ENGW1111 2024-08-29 23:03:23 +0000 UTC
Not the greatest professor I would recommend for an 8am that no one wants to be at but is mandatory. He is strict on attendance. Can't be a minute late or he will make you which effects your grade. He can have his bright moments and you will learn and progress better as a writer but his attitude and tendencies make it not a good class.ENGW3301 2014-04-15 18:40:45 +0000 UTC
Really interesting class. I didn't love the readings the first time around but after thoroughly discussing them in class I really liked the pieces he chose. Fair/easy grader. Speak up in class and be on time and try your best and you will do well. Take advantage of office hours.ENG111 2013-09-04 22:06:42 +0000 UTC
Extremely intelligent and helpful if you need it. A relatively easy grader. Just speak in class and he will love you.ENGL1111 2009-12-03 20:38:02 +0000 UTC
the readings are dense but by the end of each unit, you do have a much better understanding. many drafts for the main papers, but he provides helpful feedback. encourages students to ask for help, but attend class/participate to get on his good sideENGU111 2008-12-17 01:14:23 +0000 UTC
Really hard to get a high grade and unreasonable comments under your assignment. Attend every class still got a very low participation score.ESLG0095 2023-03-27 05:37:31 +0000 UTC
really hard to get a high gradesESLG0711 2019-02-26 02:16:43 +0000 UTC
Professor Griffin is one of the best writing teacher I have ever met. I learn a lot in his class.ENGL1102 2016-09-01 16:01:27 +0000 UTC
Super hard, impossible to get an AENGW1111 2024-01-12 15:03:44 +0000 UTC
don't recommend. very strict and ridiculous. time is a factor in this class. even if you are 1 or 2 mins late, you will be marked for it, even if you are printing assignments and projects for the class, which will waste a lot of paper. he is good at teaching and you will learn but his rules & strictness needs to lighten up to make the class betterENGW3301 2014-04-15 18:36:59 +0000 UTC
He is a good teacher...looks like a college student and lovessss the material covered in class. There are about four or five main readings which are all VERY dense and tough to interpret. griffin does a good job of explaining them. homework almost every night, four main 6-8 pages paper are the bulk of the grade....he punishes those who skip class tENG111 2007-11-05 15:30:30 +0000 UTC
Well, Professor Griffin is conscientious in teaching. I can learn a lot in his class. However, for a freshman, his course is more intensive and the requirements for paper and participation are very strict.ESLG0095 2022-12-16 20:22:28 +0000 UTC
