chris is great, his lectures are quite boring but he clearly knows what he's talking about and they're very informative if you can stay awake. he cares a lot about the students and provides a lot of help. the grading is tough but if you study you'll do fine. quizzes entirely from the homework, but for the exams you dont get a cheat sheet :(2321 2025-12-29 23:29:26 +0000 UTC
I have mixed feelings about this class. The quizzes are questions straight from the HW, and the amount of HW is a bit insane. I didn't like the way the professor taught, he speeds through lectures, and the examples provided were easy compared to the HW. If you are taking him for Calc 3, just know you will have to perform well on the midterms to have a good grade. Homework isn't graded, but you must do it to actually learn the material and practice what is taught in class. Weekly quizzes are problems straight from the homework. Passionate, caring, but didn't teach well. When i stopped going to class and instead watched youtube videos made by the textbook I got much better grades (5/10 to 8-10). Quizzes are taken directly from the homework, but it's a LOT of hw to get through. He clearly loves calc and is passionate about it, but he is not the best at explaining ideas. He does not use slides and does not give you any time to do examples, so it is just listening to him talk the whole time which can be hard to follow. I am very displeased with my professor this semester. He is one of the worst professors I've ever had, not to mention this is the hardest course I've taken so far. Just save yourself the trouble and take a different prof. He was rated quite well so I was thouroughly dissapointed. He just speeds through a lecture on the board never turning to the class. The class is very hard, but that doesn't make him less of a professor. He does his best to teach and is always there to help, he constantly asks the class if we have questions and is open to providing support to all. Watch out… He definitely knows what he's talking about in terms of material, but the lecture is a lot of him talking at you and not teaching. The board is always full of notes and nothing is uploaded to canvas. He's not kidding when he says 6 hours of homework a week (minimum).
