He's a pretty good professor for Diff Eq; he teaches the material well and the quizzes/tests are very similar to the practice problems. He also posts all of the lecture notes onto Canvas and the notes are well organized. This was my favorite professor I have had for a math course since being at NEU. He is very nice and has a great understanding of the material. He goes over some notes, then does a few examples which really make sure that you know what you're doing. This class was one of my least favorite because of not only the course material, but the homework. Homework was very hard. the professor always mumbles when he speaks and it is hard to understand what is going on in lecture, I could never keep track of what was going on. While many may have the opposite reaction to him, I think that he brings fun to what is not a very fun subject. This variation of calc1 should be avoided as it covers concepts way into diff eq and linear algebra. Prepare to solve systems of ODE and use lambda substitution to find eigenvectors. Dr T did not help digest this rather challenging material which became more apparent as the class shifted to more difficult topics. I honestly feel that dimitre is given too much hate. I think he gives enough resources to do good in class like practice problems from a textbook. The test questions are almost exact to these questions and sometimes he will take questions straight from the textbook. I took this class in summer 2, and idk if it was just the summer semester vibes, but I felt he was very forgiving in grading. Partial credit can get you pretty far. He teaches this class like its the most boring thing hes ever taught. Its very hard to stay engaged and he rarely ever checks zoom chat. Not a great teacher, be prepared to study tons outside of class. Would brush through problems and start new topics without ever explaining the content or the methods used. Honestly I did not feel that Professor Dimitre was bad at all. There were times where he would mix up his words or forget some but it wasn't to the point where I couldn't understand what was being taught.
