cant even lie i felt like i was listening to google translate with an accent. he was telling stories more than lecturing. quite easy to finesse a grade in tho so ill give him thatMATH1231 2026-02-04 23:04:22 +0000 UTC
Before each quiz/exam, goes through each question & tells u exactly whats on it. Responds to emails quickly. *Go to his office hours he will help you* Grades very fairly, will reconsider points off if you talk with him. Sometimes a bit scary. He's from the Soviet union, so thats just his personality. He wont hate you unless you never come to class.MATH1342 2025-12-19 03:19:05 +0000 UTC
I passed this class because I took AP Calc in High School. His tests and quizzes are super easy and he tells you what is on them. He prepares you well for the final, but if you don't know calculus going into this, don't take this class.MATH1231 2026-01-09 02:38:34 +0000 UTC
Prof. Karapetian was a great teacher and I felt he prepared us well for each test. If you attend class and pay attention, you will be fine. Weekly quizzes that are pretty easy and have extra credit questions.MATH1342 2025-12-17 16:15:23 +0000 UTC
This is a hard course, even if you took Calc 2 last year. He can be difficult to understand at times and moves very quickly. However, he will answer your questions and is VERY helpful during office hours. He doesn't sugarcoat anything, which can come off as rude, but he doesn't mean it in that way. Also, the exams are a HUGE part of the grade.MATH1231 2025-11-24 19:34:14 +0000 UTC
Professor Karapetian is alright. He gives quizzes weekly, but he tells you exactly what is on it so if you write down what's on it and study the quizzes are super light. Midterms are the same. He is absolutely hilarious and often goes on rants about random topics during class. One time he told us to go to China and work as engineers there.MATH1342 2025-12-16 22:03:51 +0000 UTC
Amazing teacher and cares about making sure that students understand but can be tough in class. if you ask a stupid question, he will say you should know the answer and your past teachers failed but then he will answer the question as clearly as he can. you will either love him or hate him.MATH1231 2025-11-24 19:25:44 +0000 UTC
Ok, this dude is hilarious. Hands down one of the funniest guys ive ever met, and it's not because he tries to be. Lectures are a bit all over the place but you'll know what's on your test. I thought he was a great teacher and his stories were awesome. SIT IN THE FRONT ROW (I promise it matters).MATH1342 2025-12-12 17:03:30 +0000 UTC
If you already know calculus, this class is very easy. If you're new to calc, the professor may be challenging because his teaching isn't very clear. Attendance isn't necessary, but keep track of test and quiz dates. He can be a picky grader. He always tells you exactly what q's will be on test+quiz. Also kinda funny, but it gets old.MATH1231 2025-11-23 18:15:09 +0000 UTC
First two weeks of lecture were confusing and unrelated, don't feel overwhelmed. Lectures are disorganized but tests are EXACTLY like what is covered. tells you ahead of time what the test Qs are. likes to call/call out students, makes lectures fun. lectures go really fast; if you're confident in calc 1 class is easy. No HW and tests have bonus ptsMATH1342 2025-12-11 16:26:18 +0000 UTC
Great prof who really wants you to learn. Not for very sensitive students, but if you can handle a bit of pressure he's awesome. Tells you what's on the tests, gives similar practice, super generous cheat sheets, funny, fast-paced but manageable, and truly passionate about math.MATH1231 2025-11-20 06:28:44 +0000 UTC
Prof Karapetian was such a funny guy. In class he walks you through exactly what you need to know and teaches to understand. He tells you exactly what will be on tests/quizes and offers extra credit questions on most tests. He can sometimes go off on tangents about the American education system which can seem targeted but he really cares.MATH1342 2025-12-10 21:48:07 +0000 UTC
Everyday political rant (1/3 of class) that we are worthless. Bullies kids and screams. Lectures impossible to understand. Found out day before final the methods he taught us were harder than all the other teachers. Once spent 32 min in class (timed it) ranting America's school system is a failing state and USSR is better. Tests itself are easy.MATH1342 2025-12-09 19:57:07 +0000 UTC
He teaches the class like we already know the material. During his lectures, he moves too quickly to grasp the lesson, and then he pauses and says "everybody understands?" and wait a second and then move on. If you ask a question about what he just tried to explain, he flames you for not understanding and your old teachers for being unable to teachMATH1342 2025-12-09 19:46:57 +0000 UTC
textbook was HORRIBLE and he's not great at explaining things either. it helps to review the topic before class because he works so quickly on the board that you WILL get lost if you dont know whats happening. however it's hard to get lower than a C on quizzes because the partial credit is crazy generousMATH1342 2025-12-06 22:20:32 +0000 UTC
