One of the most insightful English professors I've had. The class was very discussion-based based but this professor made it really easy to participate and be a part of the discussion. She was good, definitely really knows her field and I learned a lot. Pretty fun and nice too. This class was certainly demanding though, LOTS of reading, and a few times we'd have to read a whole 200+ page book just to discuss it for an hour in class so it felt like I didn't even have to read it since we discussed it so little. You will do more work in this class then you have in any other class. 7 books in 12 weeks with "close reading" assignments, a self-guided research presentation, 10 page essay and a take home final that is 4 200-400 word short response and 2 1000-2000 word essays. this class is a complete time consumer. intro to lit class time was mostly built on discussion of readings (which there was a lot of), and prof dillon is super knowledgeable and insightful when it comes to helping guide those discussions.
