For ENGW 3304: Professor Elly was amazing. It's clear that she wants students not only to succeed in her class but also to enjoy it and get something out of it. She makes a required class enjoyable and fulfilling, and I couldn't recommend her more! Elly is phenomenal. She is by far my favorite writing teacher. Her course requires deep thought and personal introspection, but I found the assignments to be tremendously worthwhile. Professor Jackson is really good and hilarious! She gives good feedback on papers. There were 5 assignments, 3 of which are 10 points each and it's completion grade. Amazing professor. Had her for Advanced writing in the health profession. Always hated writing classes, but I actually enjoyed going to her class. I took College Writing with Ellen Jackson and she made the class so enjoyable! She gives you a lot of help in finding your voice for your papers and always gives you multiple tries to get a good grade. It's nearly impossible to not get an A. She's an amazing teacher will help you with anything and she makes a usually boring class fun. She seems to try her hardest to make sure you get an A but obviously if you don't try you wont otherwise you should be fine. I thought Ellen Jackson was the best teacher I had freshman year. She is VERY interested in helping students accomplish their goals in the class. Her grading is very fair and she gives you multiple chances to improve your grade by assigning papers through out the semester. I loved the class conversation and format. Really, really nice teacher. She takes a different approach to writing that is much more laid back. It was great having her hearing all my friends complain about all of their freshman year English teachers. Do the readings. Walks you through the creation of your paper. Will usually give you two or three drafts of memos and proposals before giving you a grade on them. You can complete your paper by the 3rd draft and get her to review and edit it making it easy to get a good grade on the final draft. Really nice and helpful.
