*MATH3543. Hands down the best math professor at NEU. The math department here is underfunded and understaffed, but there is a small batch of great professors, and he is definitely one of them. The actual content may be difficult, but the professor explains all concepts in a formulaic and engaging way. The lectures are accessible, but it's very easy to fall behind. I had Dr. Dummit for MATH3543 and WOW! It was an amazing class! Dr. Dummit was funny when he taught the class and he was a great teacher too! I highly recommend you attend his classes and OHs are a good way to catch up. His explanations are clear and concise, and the questions he works through are challenging but lead to a deeper understanding of the subject. Evan Dummit was an excellent professor in just about every way. It was clear that he had an enthusiasm for the material and would always provide excellent examples and feedback. He also created a ton of supplementary material that helped immensely with learning any confusing material.
