She is a very easy professor to get an A grade under. It does make it unfair for students who are willing to work for the course since she frequently gives extensions, allows late submissions and entertains any sort of regrading if you just ask for it. Oh and be prepared to take a very important exam the Monday after thanksgiving break very early in the morning. My favorite recitation was the one for Discrete Structures taught by Professor Ghita. She has the power to make concepts digestible for someone learning them for the first time. Additionally, she always took the time to clarify even as after the section ended. Finally, she gives you just enough to let still reach that "aha" moment. so nice and so ineffective. there were many typos on the shared materials (notes shared, etc.) throughout her teaching, with not enough support to resolve them, making understanding concepts frustrating. explanations were ambiguous and missed the mark. poor teaching quality. highly suggest avoiding if you can. some things just don't change.CS1802 2025-01-17 20:22:52 +0000 UTC

Had her for recitation for Discrete Strucutres (CS1800). She was amazing! Not many people went to the recitations, so you are able to have very small group discussions with her and get personalized help. The online lectures are done by a variety of teachers and are comprehensive. Professor does a good job of explaining in class. TAs are very accessible during "clinic hours" to help with homework. A terrific professor. Dr. Amor was always ready to answer questions and she explains concepts super well. I got an A in discrete because of her. She provided so much help and kindness. My advise is to show up to recitation - no one does, so she'll spend as much time as you want on your questions. Everything you do is online. Attendance is 4%, but CS, in general, is a very intense and time-demanding class. Long assignments every week + quizzes. The grades add up fast. Don't risk your grade unless you're a CS major. The class is based on watching tutorials online before class, and then practicing the material during class. There are a lot of homework, which are a pain, however it is the only way you are going to learn the material.
