Though the class is very difficult, he grades fairly and understands that it's difficult. He was always super responsive and always met one on one if you either asked or were struggling. 5800 is a very challenging class but it is doable if you actually put in the hours. You learn a lot. Greg genuinely cares, records great lectures, and has lots of availability. Graded only by 4 exams. I studied heavily for all of them and failed all. I was barely above class median each time. The curve was insane and even that didn't save me. Don't waste your time. Instructor that has no clue how to teach the content. Quizzes will have material way more advanced than what we saw in the lectures and homework. FYI: The low ratings on here are from the few students who failed the class and won't be of use to you. Info you want --> There are 4 exams (25% each) and weekly HW is purely for practice. The class is online and asynchronous which it convenient. The homework can be quite time-consuming and challenging. The exams were too difficult, a 60+ was an A, so there was a big curve. Take it if you need to do a summer class and want to stay off campus.CS1800 2026-03-17 22:13:12 +0000 UTC

don't take his classes please!! I wish he cared more about getting his student preparing for his EXTREMELY hard exams then just using a bunch of videos from many years ago. The concepts are exciting but I can't say I've walked out of his class learning anything.
