I found his Intro to Public History class to be interesting, but difficult. Expect to spend a lot of time doing readings, as he's a hard grader.HIST1120 2010-12-21 17:40:10 +0000 UTC
He is an incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable professor. His Cultural History of the US class is half lecture and then half Q&A. One must attend class and take thorough notes to get a good grade in this class. He answers questions fully and explains concepts fully. This class is not easy, but he teaches it very well.HIST2340 2010-08-12 22:04:32 +0000 UTC
I doubt that Prof green much likes teaching or students. He is neither welcoming nor approachable. Things seem to annoy him that wouldn't bother even the grumpiest people. What he does like is history. Enough so that he isn't a half-bad teacher. He piles on the work. If you do it, you learn. He might even be a good teacher with a new personality.HIST3222 2009-12-17 12:32:05 +0000 UTC
paper, midterm, final. if you don't want to read over 200 pages a week on technological blabbering or write a paper that copies that blabbering, drop the class. before its too late.HISTAHOME 2009-12-08 02:39:26 +0000 UTC
(American Cultural History)He requires ALOT of reading. If you dont want to do alot of reading dont take the class.I enjoyed the class because he gives an alternative perspective in the study of American Culture. Aspects of culture tht are ignored in standard historical study studied in this clas. You HAVE be interested in the class or it wilboringHIST330 2008-03-18 14:07:49 +0000 UTC
honestly not that intimidating, willing to help. show up to class bc the papers are based on his lectures. show improvement and hes willing to weigh papers(only 3, no final/midterm) accordingly.UCULT340 2007-12-27 23:02:37 +0000 UTC
Prof Green does not have a warm personality. He is not entertaining, welcoming or very approachable. But I don't think he means to intimidate as others suggest. He loves history and piles on the work. I guess he thinks you'll love it too and get it as easily as he does. I didn't, maybe others did. Still, he is well-organized, and grades fairly.HISTU340 2007-12-04 17:04:27 +0000 UTC
one of the most knowledgable profs i've had at NU. cultural history was a great class if you'd like to learn a different approach to studying american history. not very approachable, but a good lecturer who tells you exactly what he expects from you.HST340 2006-08-17 19:49:32 +0000 UTC
Only grades are the midterm, final(both essay type tests), and a 10-15pg paper. He is a really nice guy! Some of the stuff is pretty interesting, some boring. The class is not that hard if you take the notes and at least read some of/skim each book so you know some stuff to put on your tests. Not a super easy class though if that's what you wantHSTAMERHOME 2006-04-28 00:01:40 +0000 UTC
What good this class did for me: none. What I learned: The origin of the spork. There are 6 required books and outside reading in excess of 200 pages due for each class. The entire class is a slideshow, and he scoffs (and most likely embarasses you) if you get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of it. If you have no life, you will do well.U231HISTAMHOME 2006-03-31 00:45:11 +0000 UTC
Expectations are high but he tells you what he wants.. grades fairly. He really knows his stuff and teaches well.HSTOFAMHOME 2006-03-03 11:29:32 +0000 UTC

Do not take this class with Green. He is pompus, rude and disrespectful. He does not allow students to go to the bathroom during his class. He considers it a sign of disrespect. Furthermore, when it comes to anything about technology, he pokes fun at what he doesn't understand. There is 1 paper, 1 midterm, and 1 final for grading. Boring class, tooHSTOFAMHOME 2006-02-07 15:51:02 +0000 UTC
