Professor Salter is one of the most thoughtful professors I've ever had. She truly cares about her students and made class time engaging even on Zoom. Her field of study is not related to my major but I would take any class she teaches.HIST1215 2021-04-06 19:20:27 +0000 UTC
Prof Saltzer is clearly motivated and passionate about her class. She can rush a little bit during the lectures but she gives a great overview of history and makes it interesting. You get a lot of grades which is nice, though the debate was kind of disorganized and hard to do well on. Sit near the front of the class and you'll do wellHIST2211 2018-11-16 14:56:53 +0000 UTC
Shes compassionate, organized and knowledgeable. Your grade is attendance (you evaluate yourself), 2 weekly assignments, 3 book quizzes, and a project. Weekly HW is like 100p. reading and 700+ word HW. You ought to read the books. You can put in the effort and get much out of it, or skim for an easy A. But she was lovely; I'd take her again.HIST2311 2025-12-14 00:18:45 +0000 UTC
Plenty of opportunities to pick up your grade, book exams are easy if you just do the reading, final paper and debate are pretty nice too, overall great lecturer who makes class very interactive and her TA's are very helpful too!HIST2211 2018-02-23 18:49:18 +0000 UTC
I took Colonialism & Imperialism with Professor Salter and she was beyond amazing. She was incredibly organized, kind, and understanding. I learned so much in her course, and appreciated that all her materials were free and educational. The one thing I will say is that homework was due the night before class, so you need to manage your time well.HIST2311 2025-05-15 18:04:13 +0000 UTC
One of the best professors I had a Northeastern. Her class can be work heavy, but she kept me engaged in her lectures all the time!HIST2211 2017-05-18 20:55:27 +0000 UTC

Heather Streets-Salter is one of the best professors I've had at Northeastern. Her class is a lot of work each week, but not too difficult. Additionally, her lectures are engaging and insightful. She makes every student care about history and the class as a whole. I could not recommend her enough to any student in Northeastern.HIST2211 2017-05-01 21:15:46 +0000 UTC
Professor Salter is genuinely such a kind and caring professor who wants her students to succeed! The class structure is very doable, she gives extensions to students when needed, and she always gives sufficient feedback. The class is not meant to be difficult, if you put in the work you'll get a good grade. I highly recommend her class to anyone!HIST2311 2025-04-27 23:40:08 +0000 UTC
Professor Salter is amazing and I couldn't recommend her history class more! She's passionate about the history of colonialism & imperialism, and her lectures are always engaging. She's also very clear about what to expect with assignments and quizzes. Even as a history major, I think anyone who keeps up with the material would find it manageable.HIST2311 2025-04-26 18:23:49 +0000 UTC
Professor Salter and TA Dr. Benjamin Gray, were an incredible teaching pair that made this semester informative and impactful. You use her textbook, three books, and lectures throughout the semester, which could be a lot of reading, but grading was always fair/clear and they both left great feedback. I would highly recommend taking this class.HIST2311 2023-12-21 20:21:25 +0000 UTC
She is passionate about the Colonialism class. I took 2 HIST classes to round out my minor and many of my classmates were Int'l Affairs majors. I succeeded and enjoyed the course, especially the capstone mapping project for which I researched the migration of an indigeneous tribe in Quebec. Reading not too bad; do them => good reading quiz grades.HIST2311 2023-12-06 20:49:20 +0000 UTC
Very caring and helpful. Makes you want to attend classes.HIST2311 2021-04-09 20:28:20 +0000 UTC
