A remarkably combative professor. And not in the cool, "challenges you to think harder" way, in the "why is she reacting to this innocuous thing as if it's a direct challenge to her authority?" kind of way. I LOVED taking class with hillary. Hands down one of the best professors I've ever had at Northeastern and I learned so much in her class. She's a great scholar and incredible professor who cares about your ideas on the subjects. Highly recommend taking a class with her about comics/graphic novels. Chute is brilliant and well respected in the literary/ criticism world. The class is discussion heavy (she'll make you sit in a circle for every single class) but I think it really helps you learn the material.
