Took him at Salem State. He is such a good teacher, and honestly wants you to pass. I overslept twice in row, one on a paper day and one on a test day. He completely understood and let me email him the paper as well as the answers to the test. He honestly wants you to do well and is so understanding. Extremely enthusiastic. Tries to keep the students involved with open-ended questions and provides many opportunities to make up missed work with in-class discussion. Very strong grasp of history, and is able to explain the subject according to the students' needs. Took him as an adjunct at Salem State University. During class we went over the novels more indepth, helped me write the papers more. Required like a two page paper every class, but every now and then I said I didn't have one, but contributed to class anyways. If you have a crisis, he helps you with deadline flexibility. Prof. Weiss is AWESOME!!! I highly recommend him for College Writing. He genuinely cares about his students and is one of the nicest people I know. He continuously goes above and beyond his call of duty to see you succeed. His passion for literature and history are reflected in his classes. First thing, don't skip this class unless you really need to. Class will last 20 minutes at the most, and he really appreciates attendance...and will reflect it on your grade. The nicest guy that you could possibly ask to be teaching the wretchid middler year writing course. The classes only last 5 minutes and he really is understanding of circumstances that prevent something from being finished on time. Don't take advantage of the guy because he is really nice. Great guy! Very knowledgeable in lots of areas, always wants to help, very enthusiastic. This class is based on one huge paper, but he makes sure you're doing well along the way. If you love 5 minute classes, then take Weiss. He has an awkward grading system, but everyone is pretty much guaranteed a + (A-/B+) if you do the drafts. He's a funny guy and really nice. I strongly suggest taking his writing class.ENGU111 2006-04-12 10:33:54 +0000 UTC
