Our year (Spring 2018) was infamous with an average grade in the lower 60s and a -5% for participation if you didn't post > three times on piazza. The class has been easier since too many kids dropped our year - but Vitek's painstakingly slow lectures and lack or direction/clarity equaled 1/4th attendance by the end of the semester. Prof. Vitek is an awesome professor for map reduce. Expect to read a lot of awesome papers. His grading policy is awesome! All assignments are ungraded, instead, you, present the assignments in class and answer his questions for points, which is pretty easy to do. There is a huge group project which is extremely exciting and rewarding if you work.CS6240 2015-05-17 23:41:17 +0000 UTC
