He was super caring and really easy to talk to. If you ever have any concerns, you can talk to him right after class or send him an email and he'll respond quickly (within a day). His grading is different from high school English, but he outlines his grading system within the first week and I honestly preferred it over traditional grading.ENGW1111 2025-12-09 00:15:00 +0000 UTC
Take Jeremy! He really cares about you and cares about your grades. It's hard to do badly in his classes. Just show up, participate and you'll be fine.ENGL3382 2025-03-20 19:33:42 +0000 UTC
Prof Bushnell is a super cool guy. He's passionate about his field and he really wants students to succeed in their writing. The class is based on students attempting to get their work published and he takes a realistic approach to the publishing world. We workshop a piece written by everyone and explore other writers works. would recommendENGL3384 2018-11-21 11:27:35 +0000 UTC
Professor Bushnell is not worth taking for advanced writing within the disciplines. He is not knowledgeable in the business field and has you work on assignments that are not relevant in the business field. He is nice but can be a jerk. He is not clear about what he wants from students at all - take with someone else or take the class online.ENGW3304 2018-06-05 13:56:30 +0000 UTC
Genuinely one of the best professors Ive had, I really hope I get him again for more advanced courses. Sometimes Id head to the classroom early to use the empty space to study, and on days when he'd arrive early as well we would talk about all sorts of funny and interesting stuff. He's awesome, please take him, pay attention and you'll learn tons.ENGW1111 2025-12-04 15:59:42 +0000 UTC
Jeremy is a great professor and super nice guy, really funny. The class itself is interesting, as well as helpful (if you're looking to get into publishing or be a writer). His assignments are pretty straight forward, not hard if you do them... The classroom vibe is really chill. I highly suggest taking Pub. Arts with Jeremy if you can!ENGL3382 2014-08-22 14:07:16 +0000 UTC
Literally such a caring professor who just wants everyone to enjoy the class and succeed. If you show up and participate (even in little ways) you will do just fine (obviously also complete the assignments). I loved going to this class because no two classes were ever the same from different discussions to new takes on writing. TAKE THIS CLASS!ENGW1111 2025-04-29 05:29:32 +0000 UTC
I highly recommend taking Prof. Bushnell's class! Not only is he a passionate and caring teacher, but his grading criteria is clear from day one. He is helpful and accessible outside of class, and the material discussed in class is engaging. I learned more from this writing class than any other Writing/English class I've taken.ENGW1111 2025-04-15 04:13:53 +0000 UTC
Bushnell was the most caring and sweet professor -- honestly a life saver with his grading policy. As long as you do the work assigned and participate in class you will do well. Highly recommend taking first year writing with him!ENGW1111 2023-04-16 17:53:28 +0000 UTC
Bushnell is super nice and cares about his students. The criteria to get an A is to literally do the work. As long as you submit the papers you get an A. There was a decent amount of time to write each paper and the class never felt like a burden. Would definitely take him if you have the chance.ENGW1111 2023-01-08 03:08:00 +0000 UTC
Professor Bushnell is an awesome. He will give you an A if you participate in class and put effort into your work. He was a real life-saver this semester.ENGW1111 2021-12-13 06:19:21 +0000 UTC
Professor was very nice and understanding. Made class somewhat enjoyable. Clear grading criteria, so pretty easy to get an A in the class. Only three big papers in the whole semester.ENGW1111 2018-12-08 13:42:46 +0000 UTC
He appears to care about his students, but if your interest do not overlap with his you will struggle.ENGW1111 2018-05-02 17:43:15 +0000 UTC
Bushnell is a great english professor who teaches well and is also not a harsh grader. His assignments aren't boring and tedious since you get to choose your own topic to research and write about. As long as you follow the guidelines for the major assignments, you'll do well. He also gives good feedback so you can improve as a writer.ENGW1111 2017-11-20 12:52:28 +0000 UTC
I didn't learn anything from his class, but he is incredibly clear about what he wants in your papers. It came down to a formula, and once you figure that out, it's easy to get a 100 on every one. Didn't enjoy the class, but you could choose most of your essay topics which was nice. My writing suffered, but give him what he wants & get a good gradeENGW1111 2016-04-14 11:51:08 +0000 UTC
