Many concepts in the assignment were never taught. Heavy plag checker.CS5800 2026-01-24 06:05:02 +0000 UTC
Short lectures that are useless, his writing is so unclear there is a typo and literally every assignment, "Your implementation of the below need not yield vast improvements in results, but must have some recognizable positive impact in a non-negligable number of cases to be counted as fully successful. " like bro what. This guy is a waste of $$CS5100 2025-12-04 00:25:13 +0000 UTC
I took algo under him this summer & it went really well. He approaches his lectures & doubt sessions with curiosity and an intention to really help students, which I liked. It was also easy to get a hold of professor and he made sure he explained topics until the students really understood them. HWs are hard, but the doubt sessions made it easier.CS5800 2025-12-02 23:15:06 +0000 UTC
Don't take his 5100 class. He clearly has no life — drops two projects with no warning and gives you a week to finish. The lectures are just short 10-minute recordings that barely cover the topics, yet he expects you to solve hard assignments from them. Any youtube video will do a better job if you can call this teaching.CS5100 2025-11-01 02:14:03 +0000 UTC
Don't waste you time and money with Jesse. Some of the worst recording videos to learn from: short and don't cover much, and somehow homework was extremely difficult. Not gonna lie, you'll get much better explanations on YouTube if you search the same topics there.CS5800 2025-11-24 03:28:28 +0000 UTC
First off, if you're into modern AI, CS5100 is the wrong class, mostly old school AI — not worth the effort and money you will be paying. Go for CS6140 (ML) instead. Expect 20-30hrs/week workload from this professor, and slacking even a bit enlarges that number. If you have another heavy class like CS5800, I strongly encourage you look elsewhere.CS5100 2025-09-13 13:06:47 +0000 UTC
I learned a lot from his algorithms class - yes it is a hard class but he is always available for help and he actually cares about you learning the material (which is not always the case with profs I've had at this school...) It's hard, it's a lot of work but I am so glad I took this class with him.CS5800 2025-11-10 17:37:43 +0000 UTC
Worst professor never take any course under him. Iraklis is better Don't know how did he enter such a prestigious University like Northeastern University.CS5800 2025-10-08 23:45:38 +0000 UTC
