It's not hard to succeed in this class if you put in effort and do the assignments, Jesse makes it clear from the start. I am not a theater major and you don't have to be to do well. I did not enjoy this class at all. Jesse thinks he knows everything but is not open other ideas or opinions. I tried my best but he never thought my best was good enough which left me feeling sad but I had to stick it out so I could get the credits.THTR1125 2024-11-23 00:25:57 +0000 UTC
Jesse is not nice. He yelled at me and my group mate because he said we weren't good enough. He embarrassed in front of the whole class. I understand that acting doesn't come naturally to everyone, but he was out of line and I tried my best. I will never want to see Jesse on campus again. Professor Hinson made class very fun and engaging with several games that definitely were a nice break from my other classes. He always gave good feedback on our technique and was very accommodating to students who struggled with improvisation. Jesse is the best! He makes class very fun and you learn a lot besides just improv. The readings are light and easy and very interesting. You get what you put in and it's the perfect elective to take that's just fun and laid-back but also requires effort.
