The homework relies on copying outdated TypeScript code from a google doc that often causes errors and requires ignoring best practices to follow. Components are sometimes misnamed, making it unclear where the code belongs. Since each assignment builds on the last, these issues accumulate and create confusion in the final codebase.CS4550 2026-01-09 18:05:10 +0000 UTC
This professor is incredibly knowledgeable, but the workload can be quite heavy with a lot of homework assignments. However, don't worry too much. The grading is lenient, and if you keep up with the assignments and reach out to the TAs promptly if you get stuck, you should do well.CS5610 2024-04-28 06:31:39 +0000 UTC
I would recommend to take this course.CS5500 2022-12-17 00:52:45 +0000 UTC
One of the best CS professors at Northeastern without a doubt. It is very difficult to teach computer science without piling on tons of work. Jose handholds you through everything, then gives you the opportunity in homework to do it yourself. Quizzes and exams are easy (don't confuse easy with not learning anything), I'm learning a ton. Phenomenal.CS4500 2022-11-01 03:48:49 +0000 UTC
Jose is one of the best CS professors I've had at NEU. Very understandable about outside class conflict (i.e. travel and family events). There is one homework and one quiz for each week, but the material is covered in class and the homework is VERY clear cut.CS3200 2021-11-30 20:51:51 +0000 UTC
Very helpful and caring professor. He records his lectures and posts them on his youtube channel. That way one can be a week ahead of class. Would highly recommend taking this class with him.CS4560 2020-05-27 14:10:12 +0000 UTC
Great professor! He is really good at coding, and sometimes he does the coding in class to help us understand the whys and hows. TBH his class is very intensive: quizzes, assignments, projects, exams... Though it makes the workload really heavy, the credit is dispensed to all these tasks as well so you are not doomed if you screw up one assignment.CS5200 2019-03-03 05:09:27 +0000 UTC
Prof. Annunziato's Web Dev class is probably one of the best courses I have taken here at Northeastern. He seems really passionate about the technology and is effective in teaching it. Another plus side is his availability for office hours, and prompt response to posts on Piazza. Definitely recommend!CS17518 2016-02-06 13:10:22 +0000 UTC
Very Chill Professor, He accepts late assignments however there are a lot of workCS4550 2025-01-11 08:38:35 +0000 UTC
Outstanding class! The professor delivers clear, engaging lectures and makes complex topics accessible.CS5610 2023-12-14 01:20:36 +0000 UTC
It felt like this class was an afterthought to Jose. It's as if he's just reusing old course material without making sure they fit properly into each other. He can also be extremely unresponsive on Piazza; simple questions like "when is the project due" would go unanswered for weeks. However, he is very helpful in office hours, and is a nice guy.CS5500 2022-12-01 17:41:40 +0000 UTC
- "Spontaneous" final exam - Ignores piazza questionsCS4500 2019-12-02 03:42:16 +0000 UTC
Jose is such a nice dude. The lectures for my database design class were super simple to understand and the slides were organized well. He is extremely talented when it comes to creating an example on the spot in order to explain a certain usage of something in the lecture.CS3200 2021-11-26 21:09:23 +0000 UTC
Professor Jose is a great professor. He uses practical approach to teach the course. He writes code wherever required and explains the concept in full detail. He is very caring for his students. Always available. His passion for the subject is clearly visible in the way he teaches this course. Great assignments. Highly Recommended.CS5200 2018-04-26 01:05:00 +0000 UTC
One of the worst organized classes I've ever taken. Professor leaves Piazza posts unanswered, lectures are just doing the HW, and HW is copy-pasting buggy code. I have learned nothing from this course. Last 3 assignments were buggy for most ppl, so we're forced to go to office hours with ridiculous wait times for grades. Don't waste your time!!CS4550 2024-12-05 01:35:00 +0000 UTC
