Prof. DeRoche is easily the best prof i've encountered at neu. even his survey courses are far more interesting than any elective i've ever taken. his classes, full of compelling discussion, fly by and he thoughfully considers everything his students have to say. Derouche is an awesome teacher. He friendly, clear, and smart as hell. the subject matter is a little tricky, but he explains it well. great teacher!!!! easy class if you need to take the 3 survey classes(he teaches american lit 1&2)....its all lecture with a midterm and final and can get boring at times....just mark all the quotes he talks about in class and go to class and you will do fine!!! very easy to talk to and always willing to help! all in all...GREAT TEACHER!!!!AMERICANLIT1 2006-04-21 00:45:18 +0000 UTC
I've had Deroche for Am Lit 1 & 2 and, what can I say? He has been the most influential, positive experiences I've had @ NU. Prof. DeRoche is, bar none, the best professor I had at NU. His class is engaging to the extent that its difficulty is totally negated by the students' interest.
