This class helped me understand and appreciate the agile process. The tools we learned are very relevant. I found the lectures on security and threat modeling very useful as I hadn't done anything like this before. The class is very well organized. It dives deep into modern software development practices. I found the the module on threat modeling super useful. Grading is arbitrary, and lectures do not cover what is on the hw. The professor heavily uses hidden autograder tests that students cannot see, and many grade marks are unfairly lost as a result. I had experience working in industry before taking this course. But even then I came across concepts that were completely new to me. I felt like this course made me reflect on how I used to code before. While Prof. Mitra is quite organized and gives great lectures, I wish he worded his assignments less ambiguously. Worst course.Overwhelming workload with project-like assignments, exams, class activities, & final project. Instructor reads from slides without ensuring student understanding. Significant portion of grades lies on last week's performance, with 25% for project & 35% for exam.
