Took her Literature class at Boston College. Class was not too difficult; however, the projects were creative and not always related to literature and would be tough if you aren't comfortable with that style. This is a class for people who like to write, like to read, and are good taking feedback. Kat assigns a lot of writing and a lot of reading, but it is all helpful. She is also very funny and accomadating if you need an extra day or two to finish a final draft.ENGL2700 2019-12-21 22:13:36 +0000 UTC

Kat's energy and caring nature are just unmatched in a professor. However, she grades using a "grading contract" -- a system wherein you don't truly ever know your grade. I "exceeded expectations" on every assignment except one where I met the expectations and scored an A-. Kat is a gem and such a nice person. Hated writing but loved her class. The class depends on 3 projects, all of which are very manageable. As long as you put in the effort, go for help, and show improvement, you will get a good grade. There is some reading but it is spaced over time however, it can be long so read it in advance. Took her First Year Writing class. She is a nice lady, jokes a lot. Gives a normal amount of reading for a homework, which you don't really have to read if you are smart enough to catch it all on the run. 100% of the grade is 3 big projects. She is very confusing when it comes to the projects (4 in the semester). You may go to her office hours and ask for help. When she gives you feedback and you do it, you get a bad grade on the project. This shows that she does not really know what she is asking for. Kat is the absolute best FYW professor out there (it may help that she's the head of the department). She is so helpful, and really wants to pull the best writing out of her students.
