worst! choose the other professor. she conducts exams completely unrelated to what she taught. The professor seems to not have a clue about what she is saying and her syllabus is outdated.CS5200 2026-01-24 06:01:56 +0000 UTC
Well-structured online course, but lectures are very long and there are so many of them. The tests are 51% of the grade and are based on all the lecture videos. Professor Durant offers study sessions each week to go over the materials, which is helpful though. Definitely not an easy A as it is a 95-100 grading scale, so be ready to work hard.CS3200 2023-06-30 05:39:27 +0000 UTC
Assignments took hours every single week. Not sure if it was the content being extremely difficult or the teaching but I'm assuming it was a mix of both. Between the weekly videos and the assignments I saw the excel screen more than I saw my own family this semester.CS1100 2022-12-08 03:19:49 +0000 UTC
The lecture doesn't help you learn. There are few people left in the classroom at the end of the semester. Homework is not related to what was covered in class, and I taught myself nearly everything.DS4100 2019-04-18 22:28:05 +0000 UTC
This lady absolutely has no idea what she is doing. I feel like she relies on the the class to solves the problems that she assigns, simply because she does not know how to do them. She is a nice lady, but the class is an incredibly waste of time. Do not recommend.CS1802 2017-11-20 23:56:33 +0000 UTC
Great class!CS5200 2025-11-27 07:01:48 +0000 UTC
Very lecture heavy, but lectures were boring. The amount of work was overwhelming. For an asynchronous class, there wasn't a good sense of an online community. Directions for assignments can be unclear, and if you ask questions on piazza it is also hard to get a clear answer.CS3200 2023-06-27 17:40:18 +0000 UTC
I figured it couldn't be too bad since it was asynchronous, but I was apparently very wrong. professor durant makes just about all the lecture videos which are extremely time consuming (about 3-4 hours worth of videos alone) each week and they are rarely ever helpful for the assignments. instructions are unclear and she is very unhelpful in piazza.CS1100 2022-11-09 19:07:41 +0000 UTC
Public School Professor A Employed personCS5200 2025-09-13 04:05:22 +0000 UTC
Professor is a very nice person but can be dry and fairly confusing about material - reading textbook seems to give equal if not better information. She's extremely helpful in OH though. Poor grading scheme, classmates and I would receive different grades on same submission because of TAs. HWs are often unrelated to class or test content.CS3200 2022-05-05 15:55:26 +0000 UTC
Where do I even begin? She is a very bad teacher. I tried to keep an open mind and not take the negative comments too serious, but I 100% agree. She is the worst teacher. She goes way too fast in class and expects you to follow along. Best advice: just go to class b/c easy points and then go to ALL the TA hours even though some of them are bad too.CS1100 2019-12-03 19:39:14 +0000 UTC
Never Taking it againCS5200 2025-05-09 23:10:10 +0000 UTC
Nice person, easy material, horrible lecturesCS3200 2022-04-20 00:50:08 +0000 UTC
I took her in the excel and access class and it was the best thing I could have done. She was so helpful and would stay after class ended to help me with things I was struggling with. If you are an econ major, take her ASAP. Half of my classes use Excel and I know what I am doing thanks to her assistance.CS1100 2016-01-25 11:10:08 +0000 UTC
The professor just rushed in the last and we students ended up losing marks in the last homework because she missed out on discussing the possibilities of a specific type. The TAs are inconsistent , the grading was unfair. Especially in the exams too many questions to solve, which made us losing our grades further.CS5200 2025-01-09 18:08:19 +0000 UTC
