It is hard to find his lectures useful. His assignments have hidden requirements, and apparently you will get points off later if you fail to figure out what he really wants. He rarely answers questions on Piazza. If you ask for some clarification, his typical answer is like "in industry you are assumed to already understand that".CS5001 2024-04-22 15:17:05 +0000 UTC
Dr. Bagley is the kind of professor everyone hopes for. He really cares about his students and always listens to what we have to say. He's great at teaching and makes sure we understand the material. Plus, he's gone out of his way to get us extra TAs and is super available outside of class. It's clear he's all about helping us succeed.CS5004 2024-03-31 19:15:44 +0000 UTC
Prof K is an easygoing person.CS5001 2024-04-22 15:06:11 +0000 UTC
I know you probably need to take the course for the bridge, god bless you on the midterm is all I can say. You will be taught on the kindergarten level, homeworked on the elementary school level, and examed on the college level.CS5004 2024-02-28 06:46:20 +0000 UTC
Really good. Nice sense of humor and a good mixture of fundamentals plus some of his real world anecdotes. I like how he also includes some CS ethics information at the end of his lecturesCS5001 2024-01-10 14:52:52 +0000 UTC
Dr. Bagley is one of the best professors at Northeastern! I took his CS5001 class and loved his teaching style so much, I took CS5004 with him. The class is hard and so are the concepts, but Dr. Bagley will do his best to make sure you understand what is going on and is very open to feedback. He is funny, respected and highly recommended!CS5004 2021-07-19 06:55:45 +0000 UTC
Awesome class! I've seen other reviews, and I'm wondering what class they were in. Prof Bagley talks about a "productive struggle" in his class so if the course seemed "too hard" maybe they didn't listen and work on practicing the concepts? Would definitely take a class with Prof B againCS5001 2024-01-10 14:46:38 +0000 UTC
This was the hardest course I had ever taken. Lots of high level material and hard homework. Professor Bagley's lectures were entertaining and useful to understand the homework. I've liked more real-time coding samples, but I think this was not really an option as prof. Bagley had to cover a ton of material each class. Best CS professor at NEU.CS5004 2021-07-02 01:52:29 +0000 UTC
Keith does a good job in providing resources to help with the material however the homework are a lot difficult and different overall from what is taught in class. This class should be taught with the intention of helping those with no background whatsoever in coding, but it does not. It is a hard class but the TA's are amazing at helping out!CS5001 2023-12-16 18:41:07 +0000 UTC
Great guy, wonderful personality, but a terrible professor. He is new to teaching, I understand, but it is not his strong-suit. Examples in class are very dumbed down relative to the assignments. He knows the theory well, but can't code in real-time, and cant communicate it to others.CS5004 2021-01-21 18:39:08 +0000 UTC
professor is nice, and he is honest saying he doesnt know python well. honestly, class can be a waste of timeCS5001 2023-12-10 08:47:03 +0000 UTC
Great professor. Had him during Spring 2020. He inherited the OOD material from a prev prof and was trying to refactor it for future semesters. The weekly homework was tough especially with the autograder. Final project was crazy hard since it takes a lot of time but learned SO much from it. But the prof is a very caring and motivational.CS5004 2020-09-10 15:26:42 +0000 UTC
Prof. Bagley is very kind and brings warmth and humanity to a CS class. I didn't love his lecture style personally; the slides didn't feel super helpful, and it felt like a 3.5 hour lecture could have been a 1 hour lecture if material was presented more efficiently. I didn't always think explanations were really clear. But very nice and interestingCS5001 2023-11-09 19:42:02 +0000 UTC
There are some TA who don't know how to grade the assignments and projects. They deducted the shit out of your score for tiny small things (the way you put comments for your code). Anyway, they just want to deduct your score. Just cross your fingers that your assignment always goes to the good TA.CS5001 2022-12-24 00:11:28 +0000 UTC
Prof Bagley's is good, he is available outside of class and will work with you if show the effort. Can tell that he does care about his students. Just wish he had better TA's...some are great, but several are impatient and actually rude if you don't get a concept right away. Very sad, esp when you are putting in effort, reading, going to OH etcCS5001 2022-09-30 05:06:47 +0000 UTC
