Moves fast; doesn't go too deep. Teaches you the basics of Python, some machine learning, some visualization (matplotlib, Seaborn, etc.). Notes come in a Google Colab notebook - they are clear and useful for understanding. Can get 100 on every homework if you read the notes.DS110 2022-12-16 22:08:05 +0000 UTC
It is very difficult to pay attention to him and the class is very fast-paced going through multiple areas of math in one semester. Lectures dont help conceptually understand the applications and methodsCS2810 2021-04-22 15:07:16 +0000 UTC
Always heard that he was one of the best professors at NU - took his class and finally understand why. Incredibly clear, very enthusiastic, really funny, and represents a clear style of teaching that every professor within NU CS should strive to mirror.CS4100 2020-06-25 22:05:04 +0000 UTC
One of the gems at Northeastern. Really really cares about the student's learning and is really good at explaining tough concepts. Also cares a lot about the practicality and applicability of the content you are learning. Amazing guy on top of that.CS3000 2019-08-22 18:23:05 +0000 UTC
This class was very big and he did not care whether someone does not understand his explanations. He just runs through his powerpoints for 100 minutes without any interaction. You could basically learn as much if you do not attend the lecture. It was a very difficult class as an introductory course into CS. A lot of homework and difficult exams.CS1800 2018-12-13 21:13:45 +0000 UTC
Awful teacher. He rarely explains what he is discussing and often assumes that students know more than they do.CS3800 2018-09-02 16:42:12 +0000 UTC
If you need to take Algo, take it with Gold, great professor.CS4800 2018-08-15 12:59:41 +0000 UTC

Prof. Gold taught Discrete Structures in a way that helped me to grasp the concepts better than I had in the past. He was clearly knowledgeable, accessible, and I learned a great deal from him. I also approve of his taste in video games. He's a great professor and just a cool person in general. Anyone would be lucky to have him as a professor!CS5002 2017-06-30 00:01:04 +0000 UTC
He is the savior for the CS5010 course, which, if left to Will Clinger only, would be disastrous. Extremely helpful, clear & always uses relevant examples in class. He is always ready to help if you have issues understanding concepts and gives great feedback too. His class examples are also excellent and clear. Highly recommended if you take PDP.CS5010 2016-04-06 02:06:30 +0000 UTC
Even though Kevin Gold is an extremely nice person, his lectures are incredibly boring as he essentially drones for 100 minutes in his monotone voice and somehow expects students to be actively learning, even though practice questions are limited few and far between. Definitely check out 3Blue1Brown's "Essence of linear algebra" videos!CS2810 2021-03-16 18:53:32 +0000 UTC
Took Algorithms with him this summer and he is amazing! This is my second class with him and he is one of my favorite CS professors at NEU. He has great slides, explains topics really well and genuinely cares that his students learn.CS3000 2019-08-15 18:29:07 +0000 UTC
KGold is awesome. Smartest guy, and super humble.CS1800 2017-05-21 20:01:24 +0000 UTC
I took two classes with Professor Gold. His classes are usually not easy, but that is how you can learn real knowledge.CS3800 2017-04-09 01:13:11 +0000 UTC
I took this class in summer one 2016. It was his first time to teach algorithm.CS4800 2017-04-09 01:16:18 +0000 UTC
