Lori is one of the professors who legitimately gives mind-blowing lectures. She deeply cares for her students and gives excellent personalized feedback on papers (which are the only graded assignments in class). She encourages participation and rarely shuts anybody down. Highly highly recommended taking her Bedrooms and Battlefields course.ENGL3685 2025-02-16 12:10:52 +0000 UTC
Had her a few years ago for intro and it was a fine course, but her teaching is a little all over the place. She fishes for the answers she wants to hear and can go off track often enough to cause confusion. She's enthusiastic and cares about her students. She's far from the worst professor I've had, but she wasn't exactly the best.ENGL1400 2016-10-27 14:36:51 +0000 UTC
Brings so much energy to the course and her love for this subject communicates well to the class. She allowed students to really look into a book that has this religious value as a literary piece and it was really enjoyable. Hands down the best class I've had this year, and best lecture I've had at NEU. note: a lot of readingENGL3678 2015-04-30 01:11:03 +0000 UTC
Hands down the best professor I've ever had, and probably ever will have. Funny, enthusiastic, the subject material is SUPER interesting, and what she has to say about it is fascinating. Unfortunately she's such a genius that you think your essays have to be genius-level, but she gets that you're still learning. Grading is on the high side of fair.HONR1209 2013-12-21 17:41:45 +0000 UTC
I am a CS + Business Major who is overly paranoid about getting all A's and took this as an elective - I should hate this kind of class (esp. with an A-) and somehow still absolutely loved it. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and I fell in love with the books we were reading. Her class opened my eyes and epitomized "well-rounded education".ENGL3685 2020-06-27 03:30:59 +0000 UTC
