Great pass/fail grading policy, was excused from the final because I had perfect attendance. Very knowledgeableHIST1575 2026-01-14 16:16:10 +0000 UTC
Great teacher, course is extremely straightforward and you are graded on a few things, which are mostly completion. Highly recommend for any looking to learn more about History and wanting an AHIST1187 2024-04-30 00:54:04 +0000 UTC
She is very kind, but her lectures are just reading a piece of paper at us with no information on slides and barely stopping to answer questions. Lots of inapplicable readings and very hard to pay attention during lectures Strange grading system that almost encourages perfunctory work. A shame because this topic is interestingHIST1206 2023-11-16 21:28:03 +0000 UTC
Professor Walker is amazing! This class was sooo interesting and one where you get to really critically think. The work assigned never felt super demanding and you'll definitely have fun writing the very few papers she does assign because you get absolutely free range with them - she encourages you to write about what interests you!HIST2025 2023-06-23 13:20:48 +0000 UTC
She has a great background in Latin American History and is an engaging lecturer. She gets students involved in effective ways and takes from a wide variety of sources. Do the readings and be prepared to take notes. She is a great history teacher (no sociology or archive rats here), I would say the best at Northeastern.HIST120636449 2015-04-10 12:26:57 +0000 UTC
Professor Walker is super nice and really passionate about history. You will get an A as long as you complete the work, which I liked cause it allowed me to have some creativity in my work. The assignments were never super demanding. Readings can be a little too much but that's only cuz I don't like to read lol.HIST1187 2022-11-19 20:55:29 +0000 UTC
Prof Walker knows a lot and is very passionate about the subject. We wrote papers based on two books from the course so those are important to read. Weekly readings are unnecessary. I am still confused about the attendance policy and lectures were scatteredHIST1206 2018-11-23 15:59:24 +0000 UTC
Hard to judge from an intro level class but I enjoyed Professor Walker. If you are at all interested in Latin America she is the person to go to. Very passionate and well informed.HIST1187 2018-04-15 12:18:13 +0000 UTC
