Super reasonable professor, easy to reach outside of class. Class content might seem overly theoretical rather than practical, but it gives you good intuition about important design patterns. This professor is the sole reason I did well in 1800. Everything I learned was from her seminar. She's hilarious, gives a lot of time to work on the 1800 project, and is a phenomenal lecturer. Canvas announcements for room changes posted within an hour of lecture. Labs are released on the day they are to be completed, and may be changed day of, leading to bugs and ambiguity without any extensions given to students. Unclear attendance requirement. Recitation for cs1800 is extremely important to go to. Sucks that they often seem to be during lunchtime. No mandatory anything, no grading (it's a recitation for cs1800), and the topics covered are often identical to what will be on the quiz.CS1802 2026-04-26 17:10:52 +0000 UTC

She's an amazing professor and she generally review regrade requests upon request. She can be a little aggressive at times, but she really does care about her students. GO TO LECTURES!!! She explains concepts clearly and is accessible to students, responding to emails in a timely manner. The grading policies are strict, and some assignment instructions are super vague. Prof Nunez does a really good job of breaking down concepts and explaining them well. Additionally, the homeworks he writes are fair and relate to the lectures he gives in class. The professor has her flaws, but does okay to explain the content. The problem is the content is quite useless when you think about it. We spend excessive time analyzing design patterns that are unlikely to show up in a real SWE role. Across my past 3 internships and 2 upcoming ones I doubt I would need any of it. In CS it felt like all professors were just going to be cold and irritating till I took Nunez. Turned a class I was worried about as I had a weak math background and completely aced it. Professor Nunez is all-around a great teacher. The lectures are very helpful for understanding the content. There's a lot of homework, but you learn a lot from this class.
