Doesn't answer questions in class, puts random questions on exams that weren't review. Very cocky and cannot admit when he is wrongMA299 2013-10-11 12:07:35 +0000 UTC
Calc 3: Fries's quizzes are harder than his homework. They are never a straight test of knowledge but always (as mentioned before me) have some sort of trick. The quiz grades can really pile up on you and the final for calc 3 is a huge ****. If you can't transfer out of Marcus's class then buckle up cause it's going to be a bumpy ride.MTH342 2009-04-22 11:35:18 +0000 UTC
best math teacher so far at northeastern! funny, interesting, really knows the material. he sometimes doesn't go over problems and insists on trying them again, which i think was really helpful. quizzes could be hard or easy...the material was hard. we were way ahead of the other sections of the course and had lots of time to review for the final!MTH242 2009-04-16 14:04:47 +0000 UTC
He's totally useless when you ask him to go over certain homework problems. Instead of showing you the solution he tells you to "try it again". Besides that and the fact that he messes up frequently in his examples, he's a pretty cool guy and his jokes are funny sometimes if you pay attention.MTH343 2008-11-20 23:04:56 +0000 UTC
Not always very clear. Funny in a very nerdy way. Quizzes can be difficult as he chooses harder problems form the book. Nice guy though, if you are up for a challenge go for it.CALC3 2008-11-13 18:38:53 +0000 UTC
Great teacher, not even a professor yet, very helpfulMTHSECT 2008-02-12 00:10:11 +0000 UTC
He's a nice guy when you go in for help. He thinks it's funny to not explain things very clearly in class but is totally different during office hours (the few he has). He is VERY cocky and thinks he's wonderful, but other than that his jokes CAN be funny now and then..BIOCALC1 2006-04-01 01:26:37 +0000 UTC
I always hated math until I came to his class. Even though he's an errogant and very pompous, cocky grad student, it was the first time I actually understood what was going on and why is it valuable. His tests are very fair. As long as you pay attention, do homework, and ask questions(he's very helpful), you should be all set!BIOCALC12 2006-02-05 19:12:09 +0000 UTC
Yo Regardless what the other person said, Marcus is a cool dude. He does give a quiz every week but it is not that bad if u do the homework and pay attention in class. He thinks he is the one and only math genius and thats why he always says: Remember its just that easy!BIOCALC2 2005-12-01 12:01:37 +0000 UTC
prof fries will always try to trick you on quizzes... he just doesnt care.. last midterm average was around a 59% and he didnt give a curve.. he is a bad teacher but a nice guy..MTH343 2008-11-18 19:01:22 +0000 UTC
very cocky grad student who throws tricks on tests like crazy, most people did not do very well AT ALL. don't bother asking him questions bc he doesn't give you any kind of direct answer. worst math class i have ever taken. ((not a horrible guy when it comes to nonmath stuff though))BIOCALC1 2005-07-18 09:45:59 +0000 UTC
