I regret not asking previous students about this professor. The overall rating skews positive due to ancient reviews. He's not a bad teacher, but if you cannot attend lectures because of co-op or other distractions, then be prepared for a LOT of reading. I spent HOURSSS taking notes on the readings or doing the coding assignments. His class is a lot of work, and the rubrics are undetailed, so sometimes you will get points for things you didn't know were expected. Way too many assignments and quizzes. Also, if you email him, he responds with very short, sarcastic, unhelpful, passive-aggressive responses. The first half of the syllabus is very easy. Once you get into JavaScript, it becomes extremely difficult. If you have no previous coding experience, you will find the second half of the class to be a challenge. Don't take him. I was so excited for this class, but he made me hate the topic. He doesn't teach - and that's fine - but if you won't teach, at least make assignments clear.
