I took the asynchronous version of Advanced Writing with Matthew, and he was an amazing and caring professor! He is so understanding and flexible with grading. He understands that we are all busy, so he accepts work up until the last day of finals. He will help you out in any way possible and made sure to give extensive feedback on all 3 papers in the class. I don't usually write reviews on rate my professor, but he is incredible. He is kind and genuinely loves what he does and it's made evident in class. I would recommend taking any of his classes. Mr. Hitchcock was the kindest teacher I have ever had. He genuinely cares about his students and tries his hardest give 'A's. Matthew is a great guy. He is really understanding and has interesting course material for you to read. You honestly don't even need to read the assignments and will still do well. Professor Hitchcock is very caring and wants his students to do their best in class. The class is much better because he gives so much choice in what you do for assignments. He allows people to write (not just writing papers) about what they are interested in. He also has extremely clear grading criteria. Class was pretty interesting and easy. We have a few main assignments, but they're graded pretty easily and can be submitted at any time. He really cares about his students beyond just in the classroom.
