Pretty good class. Weekly quizzes and 3 tests, but the lowest score of each is dropped. There is also a group project that is simple. The final is worth 40%, but you are well prepared for it. I had him for 1153 ILS and he was very helpful when you needed help figuring out a problem. wrote helpful diagrams and equations on the board. the TA got grading done by the next week. quizzes were easier than 1151 HW and went over basic examples of the concepts you learned & are standardized across all ILS sections and lecturers.PHYS1151 2026-04-28 20:52:16 +0000 UTC
Prof. Webber is not personable and outside of class he is not enthusiastic nor forthcoming. His lectures are OK, manageable but ChatGPT teaches me better. Attendance is not mandatory but there is a quiz every Monday that you need a code to access. Prof Webber is great. His lectures were very engaging and he went at a very good speed for the average student. The class is very test heavy, final grade consists of two midterms, the final and weekly quizes. Everything was graded fairly and reflected the material we learned in lecture. Professor Weber is a very good lecturer, he explains concepts well, so if you take good notes and pay attention you'll be well prepared for quizzes and exams. Lectures are monotonous and there's no sense of community in the classroom.. doesn't even ask people to share their names on the first day. Knows his stuff well, but I didn't align with his teaching style. Weekly quizzes. He is a very chill guy. The quizzes and tests align perfectly with the material taught during lectures. The homework, on the other hand, is often more complex than what's taught in class and on the quizzes/tests. He's a very fair grader, and he explains concepts extremely well (no fluff). He is a nice guy who makes an effort to help students outside of "class." He likes visuals and the graphical applications of math. The homework probs/lecture probs were not extremely similar to the quizzes, but you should still do those probs and it will give a good foundation for the quizzes. tests + final were fine except for midterm 2 which he curved. good lecturer and made hard concepts like triple integrals easy. hard to prepare for tests tho, there were suggested textbook problems but they were different and harder to what we learned. grading quizzes took a long time and the grader often made mistakes. didn't respond to emailsMATH2321 2026-04-28 20:45:45 +0000 UTC
He's a good professor. Never responds to emails but was always at office hours when I went. He doesn't grade anything, the graders do so sometimes it can take a while to get stuff back but it's usually within a week or two. I took Prof Webber for ILS and he was the BEST at explaining things. I felt like I really understood the concepts compared to explanations from my actual professor, and he'd consider every question I'd ask and explain why/why not something applies.
