I loved him sm but tbh I understand why people would not. Makes a lot of reviews, posts literally everything (notes, quizzes etc.) on Canvas, and gives past finals for practice before midterm. Nobody goes to class after the midterm but if you attend regularly, you will get the concepts easily. He's just very quiet and seems intimidating (he's not).MATH2321 2025-12-14 17:43:57 +0000 UTC
weekly quizzes, they were 70% take home. He is quite caring but hard to understand, he would go over the last class material before starting a new lesson so just go to class and you will do fine. The final was 10 x harder than the midterm and quizzes so beware. He curved my grade when i emailed him after so make sure he knows and likes you.CALC3 2025-01-09 16:17:50 +0000 UTC
WORST PROFESSOR OF MY LIFE. HE HAS A VERY THICK ACCENT AND MUMBLES HALF THE WORDS. THE FACT THAT MY CLASS WAS AT 9 AM DIDN'T HELP AT ALL. HE EXPECTS EVERY STUDENT TO READ EVERY WORD OF EVERY CHAPTER IN THE TEXTBOOK. I NEVER GOT HIGHER THAN 70% ON ANY QUIZ. NONE OF THE PROBLEMS DONE IN CLASS EVER SHOWED UP IN ANY QUIZ OR EXAM.MATH1342 2021-12-25 14:17:28 +0000 UTC
nice guy but not good at teachingMATH321 2011-01-06 19:47:58 +0000 UTC
He is a very nice person. I think he doesnt teach that well because he is very intelligent and everything seems obvious to him. His quizzes are really easy and gives lots of partial grade.MTH241 2008-11-20 14:54:57 +0000 UTC
i'm an engineering major, so by def. i love calculus. not with him. he is semi clear in class; it's passable. but his "quizzes" are IMPOSSIBLE. i finished through calc 3 in h.s. and i currently have a 70%. oh, and there's only 2 problems/quiz. at least he drops the 2 lowest scores...MTHU241 2008-11-05 17:00:25 +0000 UTC
I cannot believe that this man is teaching a college level course. Barely understandable, he writes everything on the board in little scribbles and blurts out "got it? ok moving on" every ten seconds. Man is a joke, quizzes all have 2 questions so dont mess up slightly on one or you're screwed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY AT ALL COSTS. HORRID PROFESSORCALCIDK 2007-11-29 11:47:28 +0000 UTC
Very friendly but hard to anderstand because of a hard accent. Gives a lot of examples. Always answeres questions and make you fill that your question was very important.MTHU242 2005-11-16 11:31:08 +0000 UTC
Go to class, and work from his examples, and you'll do fine. Homeworks and tests are okay. Hard for him to respond to questions.CALC2 2005-04-16 13:40:49 +0000 UTC
The WORST professor, ever. Speaks in a thick Russian accent, thinks everything in life revolves around physics, and cannot teach, at all. He doesn't believe in calculators for the honors section. His final was impossibly hard. Avoid him at all costs! How he still has a job, I don't know.MTHU241H 2004-12-18 22:47:55 +0000 UTC
Treats class like a joke... Doesn't speak English. Makes random references to Russian calculus terms. Has a spectacular abiity to shift into "zombie" mode and cost me about ten minutes. Says "The thing about the calculus is the calculations" all the time. Made me change my major. Awful classMATHU151 2004-11-17 15:19:54 +0000 UTC
One of the worst teachers I've ever had in my life. He's the only "assistant" professor in the math department and it's obvious why. Horrible. Difficult only to understand and learn from.MTHU341 2004-07-08 11:13:52 +0000 UTC
The WORST math teacher i've ever had. very unclear during lectures, skips steps on the board all the time leading to confusin. Doesn't understand student questions at all. Makes fun of the class often. Horrible learning experience.MTHU151 2004-03-16 09:04:40 +0000 UTC
Prof. Braverman is a pretty solid professor. The course moves quite quickly, but this allows him to spend at least a week of classes reviewing material before both the midterm and the final exam. Homeworks are not graded, so you are only graded on quizzes (many are take-home) and exams. Accent can take some time to get used to, but it's not bad.MATH2321 2025-12-13 17:58:12 +0000 UTC
Quizzes are hard but midterm is manageable. Try to pay attention in class but learn from textbook. Final was a LOT harder than all other materials. Generally a funny guy, try to keep going to class and you'll be alright. Your final grade is curved, so try to make sure he knows who you are.CALC3 2024-12-18 16:35:35 +0000 UTC
