Best Prof I've had at NU so far. I hope I can get her for AWD too. Really pay attention on the first day. Some students obviously didn't and were then confused by the open ended assignments. Great to take AWD with. Makes a mandatory course as relevant as possible. She made the assignments apply to our future careers and interests. It seemed like we did more work than some other classes, but I think it was worth it. I saw a new music video that reminded me of this class. She really makes the textbook/essays seem relevant and interesting, like making connections to pop culture and film. The essays from Ways of Reading are brutal at first, but she added a film unit that was a lot of fun. One of my favorite teachers of all time. Finally, an english teacher that gives you a grade not based on what she thinks, but on how well she thinks you argued your point. She makes it very clear what she wants you to write about, and if you do it, you will get a good grade. It also helps that she looks like a goddess. very good and fair teacher. will talk in circles and very vaguely at times, but she knows what she's talking about. Very friendly and approachable. you almost have to write, in your papers, what she wants to hear. sorta cheesy or corny after-school special, feel good stuff.
