Dr. Pearson is one of the best professors I have had at Northeastern. She is so insightful and respectful, and always treats her students like adults. Take her class!ENGW1111 2022-04-07 12:56:23 +0000 UTC
Yeah, she sucks. If you ask for help she is always around, but you won't be greeted with a smile and someone saying "happy to see you". My course doesn't have grades. When I asked her to clarify the contract that was assigned to sign, she gave me attitude over email. Don't take her class, unless you are graduating next semester and you NEED to.ENGW3304 2021-12-08 19:39:58 +0000 UTC
Pearson is actually a sweet caring lady although her lecture is boring and her feedbacks are very confusing. She gives lots of HW and changes her mind quite often, but she simply wants goods for you. She is willing to help as long as you are willing to learn. I feel like as long as you do your work and show your enthusiasm, you would get an A.ENGW3315 2019-09-27 20:06:59 +0000 UTC
I thought the people complaining about her politics were extremists, I WAS WRONG. If you don't support her politics blindly YOUR GRADE WILL SHOW IT. Very pretentious, cuts students off mid sentence, seems to think shes a poli-sci professor (she's not), and is half as informed. Despite a rhetoric PhD, gives personal opinion as fact. AVOID.ENGW3308 2019-05-18 05:16:00 +0000 UTC
If you are a science major and are taking introductory writing, do not take it with this professor. She will expect you to write as though you are an English major. She does not give great feedback and her instructions for assignments are very confusing and contradictory. Use office hours if you need them. Attendance every class is expected.ENGL1101 2018-03-27 18:01:46 +0000 UTC
Worst teacher I've had at Northeastern, by a mile. She regularly made the whole class feel awkward and does not accept any opinion that differs from her way of thinking.. I enrolled in that class to enhance my business writing skills before my internship and ended up writing about social justice in the corporate world. Avoid at all costs!ENGW2 2017-11-06 20:45:41 +0000 UTC
Professor Pearson is so kind and very insightful. She goes in-depth into the different social topics that we touch on in class. There is a grading contract and you can do some of her extra labor assignments in order to boost your grade. Overall she's a very kind person and the class is very easy.ENGW1111 2022-03-27 18:18:08 +0000 UTC
Absolutely horrendous teacher. Always unclear about assignment details and provided circular answers to questions, never actually clarifying. She claims it's easy to get an A in her class yet she's an extremely tough grader and her grading criteria never matches the assignment sheet. NEVER take a class with her - my worst professor in 4 years.ENGW3315 2018-04-16 14:06:36 +0000 UTC
This class is not challenging but the Professor Pearson makes it way harder than it needs to be. I thought the reviews were an over reaction as Im not that picky with teachers but taking a class with this Professor is a waste of time and money.ENGW1111 2020-04-24 13:58:11 +0000 UTC
Professor Pearson is mean and confusing. She clearly enjoys feeling as though she is smarter than her students and gives very little feedback. The instructions we were given were confusing and she changed them daily. She was blatantly mean to students and would call them out in front of the class. Somehow I ended with an A even with an A- average.ENGW1111 2019-05-14 18:13:49 +0000 UTC
It is not in your best interest to take this class unless you want a pretentious know it all as your teacher. She acted like she was teaching us useful skills. None of us were english majors and she wasn't a teacher. She just made us write. That's all. stupidly large amount work with this prof than with any other for this course.ENGW1111 2018-12-06 19:27:42 +0000 UTC
worst teacher i've ever had. Boring classes, no effort on her part. She makes us too unnecessary work, explains nothing, grades harshly and provides ZERO feedback. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.ENGW1111 2018-03-16 13:59:36 +0000 UTC
Choose someone else for first year writing. Unless you love not learning how to write and just enjoy talking about social justice instead.ENGW1111 2016-04-05 19:50:52 +0000 UTC
She makes the class feel very uncomfortable in general. Every open ended question she asks has a right answer according to her, and often makes students feel stupid for answering her questions "wrong". Her class isn't a comfortable environment, and the teacher is very judgmental.ENGW1111 2016-03-25 11:45:54 +0000 UTC
She was awful, she made me cry multiple times. No help was every given, I struggle with writing and was looking for help instead she told me I should already have learned the answers already and laughed at me. I never once received feedback. I am jewish and she was frequently racist, once saying that "she can't be racist because she is black"ENGW1111 2016-02-29 12:53:31 +0000 UTC
