Professor Wand was good but conventional in his way of teaching. PDP as a subject is almost useless and flipped classroom method does not help much.CS5010 2017-12-12 14:54:42 +0000 UTC
Never attending his class again5010 2015-10-13 16:04:53 +0000 UTC
Potentially good course, has been made worse due to heavy importance to documentation while grading. Use of DrRacket as programming language makes life difficult. Potentially annoying but mandatory course. Expect to spend 20+ hours for homework.CS5100 2015-05-09 00:46:30 +0000 UTC
This professor is truly terrible. Not much else to say about it.CS4530 2025-10-09 01:30:40 +0000 UTC
He is the reason I dropped out NEU, PERIODCS5010 2017-10-04 19:23:11 +0000 UTC
Literally the worst class I have ever taken. It was such a hot mess the whole semester and had quite literally the worst TAs ever. They changed grading schemes last minutes. Never gave any rubrics but took specific points off!!! This was a terrible class made worse by this professors lax attitude and strict grading.CS4530 2021-12-14 04:21:59 +0000 UTC
Although I did not particularly enjoy the "flip model" of teaching, I still think that Prof. Wand was one of the best professors I've ever had. He is brilliant and sometimes funny. I also think that every decent programmer should have some experience with a functional language (such as Racket). It will change your programming perspective.CS5010 2017-07-25 11:19:02 +0000 UTC
This is the most hopeless course teaching the most hopeless computer language taught by most hopeless professorsCS5010 2016-10-29 19:38:41 +0000 UTC
In class he teaches nothing, only knows giving us on-class exercises, boring. Low sense of participant.CS5010 2016-09-20 19:50:18 +0000 UTC
A useless course taught by professor who is least bothered about teaching . The flipped class model is to ensure that professor doesn't have to teach in class . Professor just gives slides which are prepared years back .CS5010 2016-04-16 22:58:55 +0000 UTC
I believe he spent a huge number of time for this class, but the content is really awful, especially using racket teaching OOPCS5010 2015-11-30 00:26:06 +0000 UTC
The course design is a failure and with the "help" of Racket, it is a disaster and against basics of software engineering. Wouldn't take it since its bad reputation and helpless.CS5010 2015-10-14 14:40:09 +0000 UTC
Too much emphasize on documentation. homework is extremely time consuming.CS5010 2014-08-01 20:20:16 +0000 UTC
